Stay safe. If they advise you to leave, get that mom and sister in the car and go! It’s not worth it to stay.
This is why it's important to know your evacuation zone!! I'm in a zone considered the "safest" ie, least likely to flood. So we will stay and hunker down. Remember the old saying. "Run from water, hide from wind." So know your zone, and consider how safe your home would be in high winds.

A gentle reminder about Disney Transportation during a storm...

  • Watercraft - Disney Watercraft Service stops running when winds exceed 17 knots (20mph), service may have to pulled early enough to secure the fleet, especially with the Friendship launches.
  • Monorails/Buses - Monorails and buses must stop running when winds exceed 39mph or if there is catastrophic flooding within resort grounds. Minnie Vans will follow the same policy as buses, and will discontinue service when sustained winds exceed 39mph or in the event of catastrophic flooding. Monorails may take time to restore in some cases, especially if there are power outages or damage.
  • Disney Skyliner - There are wind restrictions on the Skyliner, but I'm not 100% sure on when service must be suspended.

Here in Pinellas County, we are in Zone D so we are in the second to last evacuation zone.

And it’s time to delay my trip. Good luck Florida, I hope I can come in on Friday and it’s not too bad but if not, I’ll go to NH early. Don’t want anything to do with Ian.

Hate it, but it's the right call. Even if it changes again for the better, it's better to play it safe. You'll hopefully have a better time when you come too.

It’s highly unlikely to get better. All models are zeroed in on that track, for the first time and we are within 3 days of approaching Florida. That white cone represents with extremely high certainty where the eye will pass, and it’s now partially over land.
