True, you see that X on the map, well it’s raining in Cuba already, while clouds are nearly in Central America as well that’s how big Ian is, Orlando is forecasted to get 7-10 inches of rain in the next week due to this system. Again, if things do not change it’s going to be miserable in Florida mid week. Be prepared.
Orlando is already saturated with rain, 7-10 inches would flood some of the streets and main roads, with many retention ponds, lakes in Central FL. Its going to stir up the 🐊🐊🐍🐍 population.

Schools in Hillsbourough County (Tampa) will be closed through Thursday. If you think the parks are going to be open Wed-Thur you’re crazy. Unless there is a shift west at 11, I’ll be calling it.
The schools are also storm shelters, so they need the extra time to prepare. Schools in the county I live, which is directly south of Hillsborough, are still open. It’s still too early to say whether Disney will close or not.

7-10 inches of rain over a roughly 36-48 hour period, accompanied by thunderstorms and possible tornadoes.

I've read WDW execs already met with FL state and county officials in plan for action to keep cast members and guests safe. ( ie - plan in place for parks and resorts ).

That’s our boy, stretching from the entire Colombian Coast, covering all of Cuba, most of Haiti and nearly touching Central America. It covers half of the Carribean sea for Pete sakes and it’s now just a tropical storm. This thing is already larger then the entire state of Florida.

Also note that grid, it’s scaled the same as the map this storm is 3 squares high and two squares wide. Now observe the state of Florida.

The mandatory evacuation on affected areas to be announced by FLstate officials in a day or two will cause incredible gridlock to get out of Dodge. Hopefully ones evac have already gassed up their vehicles before the pumps run dry.

As the sun sets today, I am not sure if I am ready for the coming week. Irma made me a nervous wreck back in 2017 but thankfully, we made it through relatively unscathed. I’m not sure about Ian, especially since it seems like he has his eyes set on Tampa Bay. If I had my way, we would get out of dodge but I know my mom and sister prefer to stay here. I spent the weekend preparing things around the house and I know that I will have to help get things ready at work early in the week. Fingers crossed that everything and everybody stays okay!

Just saying, if I was spending the money WDW requires, I would cancel this trip too. Even if it were to be open, I don't imagine how fun it would be. Better to reschedule if you can.

The newest image looks like it's already starting to touch the keys.
I agree. I'd reschedule a trip for this week.

Stay safe. If they advise you to leave, get that mom and sister in the car and go! It’s not worth it to stay.
