Well, my house is all boarded up and VERY DARK! I keep walking around outside because I know I will be couped up all day tomorrow. I HATE that. I LOVE being outside. The weather here is gorgeous right now. The skys are bluer than I've seen them in a long time and no clouds anywhere. But local news says we can expect rain by tonight.

Elizabeth & Tina, I will keep in touch with both of you. Look for some pics! I'll post them if I have electricity.

Our house is dark, too. We put the boards up last night and I slept later than usual because it was so dark in the house. I find myself cooking everything I can in the freezer in case we lose power. We tried to buy a generator yesterday, but all five shipments were gone already. It was not meant to be. I see on the Weather Channel, Kadee, you should be getting some rain soon if not now.

No generator for us either. It's starting to cloud up some. I think we will be getting rain very shortly. A couple of hours or so. We'll just stay snuggled up in our "Cave" of a house.:dazzle: All this darkness is going to make me very edgy or even depressed.

We have been watching Disney movies all day. Little Mermaid just went off, now I think I am going to put the old vacation planning tape in from 1992. That is my favorite. I will probably gain 10 pounds eating "hurricane" snacks this weekend and sitting around watching Disney. Gosh, I wish the Disney channel had better stuff on it like it used to.

Ok...it's raining now. We are getting the northern most band of Dennis and it is still 350 miles away! This is a pretty hard rain with lots of lightning.

 YIKES! I guess they weren't kidding when they said there was warm water in the Gulf. Hopefully something will slow it down or change it's path.

about time I joined this thread since Dennis looks like he's coming to get me. Some idiot wrote into our local paper last week and suggested the city government buy a big fan to blow the storms back into the gulf. Now THAT would be an effective use of taxpaper money.

Even though the path right now looks like its heading toward Mississippi/Louisiana, all bets are it will be pushed back to Alabama/Florida. Stay safe everybody.

Maybe that big fan wasn't such a bad idea. . .
I wonder how many hurricanes he drank before he wrote that letter.

Good luck to us all. Be safe everyone and take care. It all starts tomorrow. I know we will all keep in touch for as long as we can, granted we do not lose power. My thougths and prayers are with everyone in the path of this storm.

The wind is picking up here and the water is very rough. The casinos had to be closed by midnight. Nothing like waiting until the last minute to make a buck. I saw on the hurricane hunters website that they have recorded winds up again at 131 kts. Looks like it is intensifying again. Man, I need a vacation to WDW after this... :(

Well, Dennis is just about here. I just woke up (6am my time) and it is just about to start raining according to the radar. Who knows how long we will have power being that Dennis has turned into a monster! 145 mph an pressure is continually dropping. It could be 150 by the time the eye gets here. And it is huge! It's going to be bad.
