I went out to meet up with friends and had to stop a drunken yob from beating up his girlfriend. As with any coward he backed off when he realised he would get hurt if he did not back off. The girl then thinks that I'm going to fight her "boyfriend" and starts saying "Don't hurt him", pushes past me and starts to cling on to him.

Did I stop a battering or just delay it? I will probably never know. Anyway I had no heart to spend the evening amongst equally drunk and obnoxious louts, so I'm back home.

Most women who get beaten don't seem to mind it so much.......it is almost like they ask for it.
