How WDW Co. spins ...

I wonder what DVC members think about this. I wonder if during the initial break even calculations, this was considered for members. Thinking the increasing costs of parties, and introduction of new up-charges and fees, this is almost going to be mandatory for the dates you choose to use points to maximize your time, and is now going to cost more out of pocket. Buy into DVC, then up-charges for extra fastpasses, extra charge for extra hours, extra charge for tours, extra charge for special events. I am not a DVC member, so I think this may be more upsetting to DVC members, and this is another wrench to throw into our DVC considerations.

Soon you will need a metro card, as there will be subway style turnstiles to get on the monorail.

This won't bother me until they start cutting back at the EMHs. Correct me if I'm wrong but at this point it doesn't look like the actual park hours are being shortened to accommodate this ala the holiday parties. Personally I don't see how this is a money maker for them. Especially during off seasons. Is $450k minus operating expenses for three hours worth it? (Assuming they get 3000 people to buy) this seems like a trial up charge event that will hopefully be gone by next year after failing miserably.

A portion of your ticket used to go to something called the WDW transportation company but that got dissolved sometime in the Eisner era

Why is there a need for a WDW transportation company? So based on that logic, should all rides have turnstiles, this way the more popular and more used attractions would receive more funding from attendance, and therefore more properly maintained? Should our park ticket be one big metro ticket and the value decreases a certain value based on what rides we choose? Then, each attraction will have its own color of money, and can be sustained from that amount?

thats how it is in Tokyo and I have no issue with it - it ensures the monorails are maintained.
How much does it cost over there?

Either way you just know even if they charged for the Monorail it wouldn't mean squat. I mean, millions of people a year pay to get in the parks and even stay in the hotels and look what shape some areas of those are in.

Heading for the great escape.
I'd bet most FAQs are vetted to some degree and everything involves a certain amount of spin.

A FAQ sheet isn't news and you know that.
Yet still you are here adding click count and content to a relative non subject that would run its course quicker.

Oh fiddlesticks now Ive added to it too. And I wouldnt waste beer chits on it.

Damn you fan boy & ubber hater.

That's exactly how the ticket book system worked and I would argue it was better. MM+ could allow a return to that system easily

I know six flags isn't Disney but at my local six flags in New Jersey I just paid about 220 bucks for a gold season pass (includes free parking and free admission and parking to every other six flags) plus I got the gold dining pass which includes lunch, dinner and a snack at every six flags and I got the photo pass which is equal to Disney photo pass. I can't believe that they are charging 150 for 3 hours at Disney. That's only 70 bucks less what I paid for the entire year. That's insane.

Its getting to the point that when I pour my coffee and log onto this website in the morning, I am nervous about what new headline I may read in terms of a new up charge event, price hike, or cutback. People continue to view these as individual items and when looked at individually they arent so bad, but its seriously becoming death by a thousand cuts.

I thought it was slightly more complex than that for Tokyo. I thought that if a train line had 2 or more stops then it was considered a public line and you had to charge for it (and deal with other regulations regarding public transit). This is why the railroad inside the park only has one stop. If they had more than one, even though it's inside the park, they'd have to charge and deal with all of the transit regulations.

Not that you're not right in that the money paid very likely goes toward the upkeep. I'd argue, too, that Tokyo Disneyland is kept to a higher standard. I've heard nothing but good things about the place in that the parks are impeccable and the service is over the top great.

I've never been there, though.

I have also heard the exact opposite about Disneyland Paris (ill-kept and rude employees that don't want to be bothered).

I wouldnt say unkept but the rudeness stems from the proximity to Prais and the same charming nature as baw bags from New York &London but with added Gauloises “blondes,”
If only they staffed it from just above Engerland . Always a charming people up there. Just can never understand a word they say. ;)
