How much do you spend?

Well, My Wife and I were Disney Store cast members when we went earlier this year. So, our tickets were free. However, I did pay for my daughter, which was under $200.00. I booked 3 rooms, for the rest of the family that was visiting also. But, for ourselves, all in all, we spent just under $1000.00 for 6 days/5 nights at the All Star Sports Resort, which includes everything for our trip. And considering we drove from Austin, Tx., I think that was great.

That's amazing. Forget a career in cable, I need to work at the Disney store!!!

Exactly! We've been wanting to visit the UK for a looong time, and have a separate account for it. We plan on dropping at least $15,000 for 10 days.
By the time we actually go, we should have closer to $20,000 saved; we're waiting until our youngest is at least 12. (And I think he'd rather be at WDW.
 )

Where are you planning to stay? I find it quite strange that "foreigners" would want to visit our cold climate and expensive prices! Nearest thing we have to WDW is Alton Towers, mind you it is quite easy to get to Disneyland Paris from London!!

Well DisneyFalcon:

We were very cautious about how much we spent while we were there. And we learned that sharing a footlong dog and fries was cheaper than a full meal for 2, which we couldn't finish anyway. And we only had one expensive meal, which was at Cinderella's Castle. About 75 for the 3 of us. Other than that, we spent about 100 or so on souvenirs, etc., and just about 250 on food for the week. It was the hotel, travel expenses down and back, which included a couple of hotel stays on the way home, fuel, dinners, etc. We actually drove straight thru from Austin, Tx. to Disney. (cause we were so excited about getting there). We switched off driving, and it took about 20 hours. And it saved one nights' hotel fees.

That's awesome HennieBogan1966! If I could keep my expenses down to $1000 then I could go three times a year instead of once!

Our next trip in October we will be saving in a few ways - free airline tickets due to frequent flyer miles, free admission for my husband and cheap tickets for us due to the armed forces salute $300 for the three five day park hoppers, free admission to sea world for all of us due to their armed forces salute, cheap hotel rates same reason $89 a night at CBR and $200 for AKL savannah view.

But still I have budgeted $3000. That includes $400 in souveneirs, 5 priority seatings, splurging on one night at Animal Kingdom Lodge and Mickeys not so scary for the four of us.

Worth every penny! Three weeks from today!

:sohappy:

Most recent trips (all 9 days/8 nights, with rental minivan):

November 2002, budgeted $4,800, spent $4,200 (including $1,000 for APs)

February 2003, budgeted $3,800, spent $3,400 (including $500 for park hoppers for in-laws)

October 2003, budgeting $2,800 (airfare free from frequent flyer miles, days left on park hoppers for my folks)

Of course, we're not including an apportioned cost from our DVC membership, so I don't know what that would bring the numbers up to...

Pippa, don't sell your country short! We too are saving for a great trip to England/Scotland and Jersey. Plan to go once the youngest are about 9 if we have enough saved.

My mom has had the same penpal since grade school, will be 55 years next year~ anyway she has visited us several times, w/grown son and daughter-in-law. On the last trip they bought so much stuff they had to buy extra suitcases and also sent some things back by mail!

Its funny because all of their friends asked why they were coming to the midwest instead of WDW! But they enjoyed all the sights and actually seeing USA from a "local" perspective! Of course an 8 hour car ride is nothing for us so they have been everywhere from Chicago, Memphis, Nashville, Branson, St.Louis, Louisville Ky, and everywhere in between...they have been to visit 4 times. next year we are meeting at wdw!

I would love to roam London's haunts, but I am a big fan of English Literature and of course mystery/murder/gothic literature. So there is a lot I would love to see and do in your country and probably wouldn't even get to Alton Towers!

Just got back so this is easy. 8 days, 7 nights at BW Concierge (Fairy Tale Package) = $2500, Food and Souv. $1500. Total = $4000. This is a bit high for us as we only stayed at BW Concierge as a treat and because we got it on the FTP. I'd say its usually closer to $2500 - $3000.
