had your honeymoon in WDW? What did you do?

My husband and I were married in 1999 and we did the 4 day land, 3 day sea Disney Cruise and stayed at Port Orleans for the land portion. This was my husband's first cruise and other than a quick trip as a kid, it was his first Disney vacation. So he was completely blown away! I had just turned 18 two days before we left and he was not even 20 yet, so it was fun for us "kids" to go off and do something that extravagent on our own. :) I'm hoping we'll have another chance to do the same cruise in a couple years with our kids.

Got engaged AND honeymooned at WDW!!!!

Hey Laura!! I got down on one knee and asked my wife to marry me right in front of Cinderella's Castle!!! We also spent our honeymoon at Walt Disney World....On our honeymoon, we did it up right!! We dined at the California Grille at the Contemporary Resort...we dined at the Brown Derby at Disney-MGM then did Fantasmic....Oh and when we arrived at our room (at the All-Star Movies Resort) the room was FULL of silver and white balloons, a bottle of champagne and an autographed picture of "wedding" Mickey and Minnie with their best wishes for a long and happy life together!!! We've been to WDW five of the last six years....we were actually at Epcot (the Living Seas) on Sept 11, 2001 (during the terrorist attacks)...all the cast members were saying was that they were evacuating due to a matter of a "national emergency".....last year unfortunately I took a tumble in the parking lot at the hotel and cracked two ribs and hurt my left shoulder (my own stupidity---not looking where I was going :hammer: ...anyways we're going back THIS Sept 11 (24 days and counting) and we can't wait!!! :sohappy: This time we're trying the new Pop Century Resort....will file a report when we return.....

Back in 1987 my husband convinced me we needed to honeymoon in Disney and I being so in loved said "Whatever you want honey". I had been to Disney as a kid with my parents but going with a Disneyaholic also made me become addicted too! I can't see vacationing anywhere else!
We are going to try DisneyLand next year - I've been there before so I'm trying to prepare my husband and children for the smallness of it.

June 2002

In 2002 we did our honeymoon actually we called it a "Familymoon" as we brought our daughter, my stepdaughter, with us. It was great very HOT (we went in June) but we had fun.

Now we are planning to go back in Oct (more our daughter's and my idea than my wife's) and as some of you may have seen I'v easked for suggestions in my Wife Doesn't Want To Go thread. I'm sure even though my wife isn't thrilled to go back we'll still find plenty to do and have fun.

Our Honeymoon at WDW

My wife and I were married on November 23rd, 1996. We left the next day for our Honeymoon trip to WDW. It was my 5th visit but it would be my wife's first. We arrived on the Monday and checked into our waterview room at the Carribean Beach. We also had the champaign and picture card signed from Mickey and Minnie. Our first park was the Magic Kingdom that evening and the first ride was on POC. My wife was blown away by the Monorail, park and Castle. She loved it all instantly and we spent the next 6 wonderful days exploring all of MK, EPCOT and MGM. We spent Thanksgiving day at the California Grill and took pictures on the roof with MK in the background. Those are still the best springrolls I have ever had. :slurp:

We traveled back again in October 2001 for our 5th anniversary. The park was VERY empty due to the recent 9/11 event. We both agreed that we could not find a more honest expression of America than to celebrate our 5 years on Main Street, USA.

We are going again at the end of September for our 7th anniversary. :sohappy: We are as excited as ever to try the new attractions and some new restaurants since our visit in 2001. WDW truly is a magical place and I hope it allways stays that way.

We honeymooned at WDW in 2000. We'd just bought a house, plus paid for most of our wedding, so money was tight. The Hawwian/Tahitian/Caribbean trips our friends were planning were definitely out of our budget. We stayed at Caribbean Beach and then blew most of our wedding cash on souvenirs

It was fun though. We'd been there once before as a couple but it seemed so much more magical on our honeymoon trip! I wouldn't change a thing :)

My wife and I honeymooned at WDW in May 2001. We stayed for 4 days at the All Stars Music resort. Let me explain why I chose this before people say "errr..what?!". We are from Jacksonville, so we're used to day tripping. I also didn't have a lot of money to blow and with the recent terror attacks still on my mind, and my wife having never traveled on an airplane (and afraid of heights), we decided to go to a place we were familiar with, that wasn't too far away, and we KNEW we'd have fun at. So WDW was totally the natural decision. We chose ASMu because when we go to parks, we go to the parks. We spent very, very little time at the resort itself, because we were just too busy doing all the other stuff out there. I don't see spending a bunch of $$$ on a resort I'll only be at long enough to sleep, take a shower, etc. Besides, it gave us enough money to do a lot of things we probably wouldn't have been able to do otherwise--like spend nearly $250 at Les Chefs de France.. :)

When I made the reservations, I told them it was our honeymoon and they were nice enough to put us in Jazz 9 on the second floor with space between us and other guests...so it was all good.

We were planning on going to Jamaica but due to funding issues we could afford the resort for 5 days, but would have little to no spending cash while we were there...(although my dad offered to hook us up with some cash, I declined. My wedding. My honeymoon, my financial burden--besides he threw us a wonderful rehearsal dinner at a very posh eatery here in town when really all we wanted was a cookout and some beer--he did buy us APs though)..

I really loved our honeymoon, we had a great time...

I took my wife on her first trip to Disney World about 3 weeks after we got engaged. Why didn't I do it there you ask? Because she was expecting it there. I had to surprise her!

We spent our honeymoon in Hawaii for ten days, but on the way back home to New York, we stopped in Disneyland for 2 days. We've been to DisneyWorld pretty much every year since.

Our wedding was Disney themed though. I had a Mickey vest, my ushers wore Mickey ties and cumerbuns (sp?) and we all wore Mickey socks. I had onyx and diamond Mickey shirt buttons and cuff links. We had a Mickey and Miinnie cake topper and during the cake cutting we wore our bride and groom "ears" for the pictures. It truly was a magical day :D

Only 67 more days til I'm Home :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

Wanna good story! Get this!

I not only had my honeymoon at Disney World, I MET MY WIFE THERE! I MET MY WIFE IN THE MAGIC KINGDOM DURING A FIREWORKS SHOW IN APRIL 2002, sitting over in front and to the left of the Crystal Palace at the round seating area with a tree in the middle. We were married exactly one year later in March 2003 and spent two weeks of our honeymoon there. We've been married happily for the last year and a half. She lived in South Florida and me in Charlotte, NC. After meeting her at Disney we fell in love and I moved 800 miles away from Charlotte to be with my love. We dated and got engaged that September. I was living with my parents and left everything behind to be with her.

Our FIRST KISS was on the Haunted Mansion! Disney is special to us, for the obvious reasons.

My wife and I Honeymooned there in April of 1993. My mother rented a condo for us is Kissimmee (I think it was Kissimmee) and we had a great time. My memory is fading now but I can tell you we spent most of our time in MK and Epcot along with a day at Universal (I can't tell you where we spent the rest of our time because this is a G rated site ;) . Every time I hear the song "A whole new world" (Aladdin) I think of that trip, what a great time!! I love taking my kids but that trip was by far the most fun.

1998 Honey moon

My Wife and I took a 10 day Honeymoon at the world in 1998. We stayed at the Carribean Beach Resort and we loved it. We had been to WDW before then and since but our honeymoon was the best vacation we ever had. We splurged on great meals, bought tons of souvineers and had a magical time. We attended the Lu Au at eh Polynesian, rented boats, took tours and relaxed by the pool. In my opinion Disney is the ultimate honeymoon spot.

We honeymooned at WDW and stayed 4 days 3 nights inDixie Landings. The first day, we had an early morning Character Breakfast at Cinderella Castle. We arrived before the park open and were allowed to enter the park while everyone else stood in line waiting to get in. We walked through an empty MK. As we approached the castle, the mouse himself crossed our path with his escort. Like kids we yelled to Mickey to take his picture. Mickey and his escort stopped. The escort offered to take our picture with Mickey. We have a picture of Mickey, my wife and I in front of the castle with no one around. Needless to say I was struck with the Magic. Even After several trips to Disney, that is still our favorite moment.

I proposed in front of Cinderella Castle, and we honeymooned at the Beach Club. We didn't do anything out of the ordinary for us - a few character meals, a few attractions (late-July crowds and the torrential afternoon rains held it to 'a few'), and spent time at the pool and with each other. It was, suffice it to say, magical!

My husband and I were married in 1989. We only took a one day trip to Disney. Back then we weren't the Disney nuts we are today. :D We had a lot of fun and it was full of wonderful memories.

It's funny that this topic came up. There's been a few times where I've asked my girlfriend what she thought about having her honeymoon at WDW. She thought that it sounded fun, but she didn't really care where we went, "just as long as she's with me". She's never been there before, and I love WDW (why else would I be on this board??). We're still a few years off from getting married still, but I think it would be a blast to spend my honeymoon in a place full of magic. All of my friends think that I am nuts but oh well, I already know that I am!

For our honeymoon in 2002 my husband and I spent 6 days in WDW at Animal Kingdom Lodge and then did the 7-night Disney cruise. We had never stayed at a deluxe resort, had never been on a cruise before, and had never taken two weeks off work before. Needless to say, we had a great time!

1995 Honeymoon

My DH & I married in June 1995. We left the next day for Florida. My first trip ever, his second to Disney since 1971 (when it opened!)

We spent 3 nights off-property and visited Kennedy Space Museum and Daytona Beach. The other 7 nights we spent at Wilderness Lodge. I was impressed with the resort as a whole, but not our room. I thought it was very small (being on our honeymoon we spent a little more time in the room). Being my first trip to Disney I was glad we were there for the 8 days! We visited every park twice and the water parks!

Next year is our 10 year anniversary and I hope to do a "Land & Sea" Package, but I would like to stay on land more than 4 days. We need at least 6 days to do all we like. :D

We have gone twice since and I am glad we went farther apart than every year. I had a wonderful time, but I don't understand all you people going every year or several times a year. (I understand those that live close because the AP is a great deal!!) (I know everyone has their preferences and I am not trying to impose mine, I just don't understand. :lookaroun )I like to go every 3-5 years because I enjoy the changes to the parks more when the trips are further apart. Thanks to my husband's "DisneyFreak" Sister-In-Law and Brother, he is starting to rethink this plan and go every 2-3 years. We'll see. One day we hope to have children and this may change to when the youngest is 3 or 4 y.o. (Unless my younger sister goes to help with any children.)
