How many of you are dreading your WDW trip?

Our family is a little over a month away from our next WDW trip and yesterday while in the middle of going over plans my DW say's that she is dreading this trip because of the FP+ stories that she has heard. Now mind you my DW has always planned our WDW and has done so with excitement each and every time we have gone but I have noticed the difference in her this time. We are staying offsite so I know that has her worried too but I told her we go and do what we can and what we can't do we'll do it when we visit again. This trip is a little different from our previous trips as our oldest son's girlfriend and her family will be with us so we know those two will be off on their own and possibly my wife and daughter will be doing things and my two younger son's will be with me and we will hit the rides.
I told her no worries will be in WDW we can wait in standby lines if they aren't too long and we'll still have the best time as we are in no rush at all. I think we will once again have another great WDW trip and come back with more wonderful memories.
Now that I've said that is there any others that seem to be dreading an upcoming WDW trip?

Not at all. Completely stoked to be going back again. I am not one to worry about stuff that I have no idea how it will work. I'll know how it works when I get there and then adjust when needed.

Not AT ALL! I'm very much looking forward to it, even if the FP+ situation is not ideal, it's not enough to make us unhappy we're going. As much as I enjoy the rides, this vacation means being close to my mom and sharing great memories with her, all else comes in second place.

Too much drama. I remember back before we had fastpass and we had to wait 2 hours in line for Space Mountain both ways and we liked it. Remember, Disney queues are half the fun. Well maybe 1/4 the fun. Well maybe 1/10 the fun, but still fun. FP+ might be a step back from original fastpass, but it still seems like an improvement over no fastpass at all.

We stayed offsite in February and did not use the FP system. Simply arrive at rope drop to your chosen park, and do your favorites first thing. Longest wait was for Test Track at 30 minutes.

This is what we did this past October. We still used FP+ (which was wonderful btw), but we got to the parks at rope drop and hit all of the major rides first thing. I have a photo of Adventureland right after we got off from PotC, after jungle cruise, and there is no one in sight on the walkways.

I went a few weeks ago. I found it easy to understand. Stayed offsite and got all the Fastpass's for the attractions I wanted. Effortless and soooo much easier to plan the day with all in hand. Don't let the cynics scare you. Granted that there are many different experience levels depending on ones intensity, but, I suspect that a lot of the negative (not all) are from people who haven't yet actually experienced it, but, it's just that they don't like the perceived restrictions.

My advice is to go, relax, do what you can, go with the flow and have a vacation instead of a work-like stress at a different location. It's just a theme park after all.:)

We went this past November and used FP+, but we didn't have any problems. We made our selections about a week ahead of time, but we made lots changes throughout our stay depending on how the standby lines were running. The only FP+ we couldn't change was for Toy Story Midway Mania, but ot because there were no other time slots available for that particular day.

As like everyone else said - just breathe, relax and have fun! Just select FP+ for your "must dos" each day and enjoy your vacation! You will have a great time!

Dreading is a pretty strong word .. concerned, is the one I'd use. It's a fair amount of up front planning and I'm afraid it will remove a lot of the spontaneity. I suppose it's as big of a deal as you make it out to be, pretty much like everything else. I'll reserve judgement for now but I'd sure like the trend to move towards having TOO many attractions to do instead of not having enough time to do everything due to capacity planning and crowds, and then having to micro-manage your vacation time.

I'm nervous for my trip in October with my sisters who are both first timers. They probably won't understand fp+ and it may make the trip a little harder but I'm going to try it out in May and hopefully that will relax my opinions of it.

I hate to say it, but all the complaining on this forum really put a damper on my usual excitement leading up to vacation. Some folks here had me convinced that the park was in shambles, totally neglected, and that FP+ was the worst thing that's ever happened in the history of the world. I was almost dreading it, thinking maybe it would be the last trip, at least for a while.

I'm very happy to report that what I witnessed and experienced was nothing at all like what I'd read about and feared. The parks were pristine. Everything was functional. Was it perfect? No, but what's perfect?? They're constantly cleaning, improving, updating, adding... it's extremely impressive, especially considering the volume of people they see every day, and the public's need for instant gratification and 3 second attention span. It must be really hard to keep up, in this day and age, but I think they're doing a fantastic job.

FP+ was amazingly convenient and saved us a TON of time and stress, not having to run around and get the paper FP. If we needed to change something, we could do it right on our phones. I didn't like how slow the app was running, but that could be my phone's fault, and I wasn't crazy about the fact that we could only have FP in 1 park per day, but that will all work itself out. MY BIGGEST PIECE OF ADVICE - BOOK EVERYTHING IN ADVANCE. Do not do it in the park, or you'll be waiting in long lines. In that case, what's the point?? You might as well wait in line for the ride instead. :p

I fell in love with Disney World all over again on this trip. No longer will I let other peoples' opinions influence the way I feel about the parks. In fact, I have to really try to stay away from certain threads, although the crying seems to work its way into just about any discussion.
