How many adult couples here have shared a room with another couple?

Just curious how many of us who are couples have shared a room with another couple, and if so, for how long. For me I have to admit I don't think I could do it for more than one or two nights, as I value my privacy and alone time with my wife too much. Are there any of us out there who actually enjoy this (and aren't swingers:lol:)?

We are always the one who invite and pay for others...Sister and her now husband have slept on the floor in our room for a night or two...never to bad. We would leave his lazy self asleep in the room if he was not up and ready. Then 2007 for Thanksgiving we asked my cousin and her son to join us....staying in our kids room and it was like going to the dentist....jsut plain crappy. Asked for a roll away bed and got a blow up mattress..which was not that bad....mousekeeping sit it up between the beds...but the son was almost 8 and had to have everything his way.....my poor kids. Never again. :brick::hammer:

In college our first year married my DH and I went to WDW with my Brother and his then GF now wife. We stayed 4 nights at the Grosvenor in DTD and it was fine. We were all in college at the time and trust me the Grosvnor with 4 in a room was much nicer than what we were used too:) I guess because it was my brother we could be honest so any issue was delt with fast. Now that we are both married and can afford to stay in seperate rooms we would. Then we were lucky just to get to WDW

Having a bit of time in the military can help shape a tolerance of multi occupancy sleeping space,

Not only would I never want to share a room with another couple, we started booking a separate room for our daughters as soon as they were old enough.

As DVC members, we prefer 2 separate studios to a 1 bedroom villa.

We've had my cousin & his wife join us on a trip once. On another trip my cousin's wife joined us while my cousin was deployed (I think his 2nd deployment). Both trips were at POP & we had a 2nd room each time for our kiddos. Wasn't the most spacious of accommodations but it was fun, like sacking out with friends. Great memories. Good times. Would do it again anytime. Honest.

As for friends, we do have some friends I would consider doing a couples only (no kids) trip with and co-habitate with. These particular friends are practically family. We've known them for like 14 years & they stayed with us in our home for 2 months earlier this year. Since they've been gone it's felt like part of the family is missing.

I think it depends on the other couple. You'd have to already know each other very well and all be laid back & really adaptable.

I can count on one hand the number of times we've shared a hotel room with another couple, and those were for one night only, checking in late, and up early the next morning to get back on the road. Don't think I'd want to do it for a week on vacation.

My DW and I did a 2BR at OKW with my sister in law and her husband. (Brother in law?) Worked out well as either couple could get away from the other. Sharing a regular room for more than 1 night (which we have also done) is a much more difficult situation.

We shared a room a Hong Kong Disney with a couple for three nights and it was not bad. We have known them for over twenty years and we where not in the room that much.

Last trip to WDW, a friend of the families husband was working in the "sand box" for the USAF. So we let her share a room with us to just get some time with friends.

We did it when we were in our mid-20s (I do believe age is a huge factor here) and had a great time- at one of the All-Stars, no less

We were there for a long weekend and split 2 adjoining room between 3 couples. Still one of my favorite memories.

But, these were extremely close friends of ours, and we've always been able to spend a lot of time together (holidays, camping trips, etc) without getting on each other's nerves.

Sure we've done it... but only for max two nights. Usually it's only one night and it's especially if we're really only going to be laying our heads down (usually after quite a few cocktails).

We travel with other couples often, but for anything beyond a simple crash pad at the end of the night, it's always separate rooms.

That said, separate rooms can be a suite, or even a house rental. It's really about having a place to pull away and get some alone time, and let loose a bit. There are a number of things you just can't (or don't want to) do with other people in the room -- no need to go into any details.

Nope. Couldn't do it. I'd rather stay offsite than share a regular room with another couple. Now if it were a 2 bedroom suite that would be different, that would be more like having your own room anyway.

We're attempting it with another couple and possibly a 3rd but in a 2bdrm at kidani this october. This will be our first trip "home" and we wanted to try making this trip a group trip instead of just the two of us. My thinking is even with 6 adults each couple would essentially have their own bedroom 1 in each dedicated and one on the pullout in the living room. 3 bathrooms in the 2 bdrm there too. In a standard hotel room setup though I don't think I'd be comfortable.
