I first visited in the late 70s.
I do not remember much, except seeing *The Mickey Mouse Revue*. It was my most memorable early experience with AAs, and at that time i was already heavily interested in animation in all forms. It fasinated me...how these figures could move and perform on their own.
I definately rode the various attractions and such, but when i try to remember anything about the trip i keep coming back to TMMR.
I returned a few years later when EPCOT opened, as i was then living in FL.
July of 1983 was my first visit to EPCOT, and i was blown away on so many levels. The scope of it all was staggering....and completely inspired me in some seriously life changing ways.
I would say the original JII had the biggest impact on me. It showed me that a creative person such as myself at that time could go off and have the ability to make a difference, and making a dream come true all began with that first spark of a idea or motivation.
Seriously, experiencing that attraction and what it stood for really was a turning point in my life for me. Up until then my creative shenanigans were seen as just an excuse for having some lighthearted fun, or as a novelty to amuse people with. After this experience however, i realized i could one day make a career of it !
I would say after that first visit to EPCOT, i was hooked. So my answer to the question would be 1983.
I became obsessed.
I would bring a lap-sized tape recorder onto the rides to record the audio ( still have those tapes ).
I once made my bedroom into a walk-through attraction based on JII.
I collected up a insane amount of WDW related merch and magazine articles about MK and EC( all pre-internet). Later i went off and did even crazier things....like start a fan movement to celebrate EPCOTs 25th Anniversary when their otherwise would not have been one.
Yeah, i was hopelessly netted into the WDW world...and i loved every aspect.
I have been back many times....yearly. Still lots to discover...and every visit brings new things to light.
