How Have You Disney-fied Your Own Home?

This thread has really made me feel better about my ownership of 30 snowglobes, tons of attraction posters, a million stuffed Mickeys, and a Fantasia Blue bathroom.

BTW--I don't think anyone answered this, but at the Art of Disney at MGM they have a catalogue of retired attraction posters that they can print on demand for you.

My daughter's room is all princesses - border, bedding, wall stickers, pre-order DVD lithographs, jewelry box/cd player, snowglobes. I also have a small disney princess snowglobe collection in the living room. Bathroom was all tinkerbell until DH took it all down while I was away... . He didn't think purple and gold went together...I think he just didn't want to use the bathroom with fairies looking at him. We're planning an addition that we will decorate in a Disney theme. I've also started a Disney themed scrapbook...

All I did was take the original disney idea and put them to the letters I needed. Granted I do grfx Design so I could manipulate them to make my stencils

mickey & minnie i found those at a antique shop outside of pigeon forge tenn. on vacation there last year.they are from the 100 years of celebration. the whole set is there and was professionally framed and already painted for 80.00 dollars for the set. i figured if i bought them at the parks they would have cost 12.00 to 15.00 a piece so with frames i got a deal.

I have those four posters, too! A few years ago, CVS ( a drug store in our area) along with Kodak, I think had a promotion. They gave them away free if you got film developed there. I got the first two that way, and then went back at the end of the promotion and the store gave the others to me. They had stacks of them.

I framed them myself in black frames and have them in my "disneyfied" family room.

I noticed your Sleeping Beauty snowglobe. That is my favorite movie! I love that snowglobe, where did you get it? I also love the Epcot one

I love that movie too!! The coolest thing is that it's double sided...on one side you've got Aurora & Phillip together, and on the other side it's Briar Rose dancing with the animals in Phillip's cloak! I got it at the Disney Store, actually, a couple years ago

Ok, did you make them from wood? Or are they styrofoam you shaped?
And I assume you did stencils for the stuff around the room?

I really enjoy this room. What do you do in Graphic Design? Are you freelance or work for a specific company?

I started collecting the toy monorails and busses, as well as other Disney stuff from online and the parks. Even have my "Death Certificate" from the HM fansite, Doombuggies.com.

Well maybe not my home, but my body. I got a small Disney "D" tattoo on my foot upon successful completion of my first season as a WDW Cast Member. Don't worry, it's not visible so I can still work.
As a side note: Considering the fact I worked at the Land I was half tempted to get the wheat symbol tattoed on my foot. I figured I could get one symbol every attraction I work, in tribute of epcot's 25th! LOL, all I could think of is jet fighters that paint the number of bombs dropped.

That's awesome!! I plan on purchasing quite a few of these attraction posters when I go down in a few weeks. Any idea how much they cost? That way I'll know what I can budget in.....

thanks....

I made the letters from pine and poplar. First I made the image on my computer and then cut them into stencils, about 6 days later they were on the wall. And as for the painting in the room I did the same, mapped the entire room on my comp. then cut them into a low adhesive vinyl and slapped them up on the wall with some paint.

I am a Graphic Designer, I work for a family owned printing/ad specialties company.

Thanks for the reply.

I think every room in our house as well as outside has the "Disney" touch, from the walk up when you see the disney mailbox, disney flags (I think we cover every season) doormat and planters into the house where the living room is ringed with 3-D plates from the movies, the dining room has artwork and candles, the kitchen has artwork, bowls, plates, cups, cels in the family room as well as pictures and more plates, my daughters princess room, my boys with Mickey and Buzz, our room with lots of touches as well as the bathrooms and in the backyard the garden statues, and it all blends well together.

Anyone entering gets the idea we like Disney!

Well, seeing that I don't have a house, I've decorated my room! :P

It's not as much as some of you guys have, but I'll be there some day.

Also, since we go to WDW 1-2 times a year, some stuff is from WDW but there is a nice chunk of stuff from the Disney Store. So, let's begin!

img1607of9.jpg

This is my bed with my Disney Store throw on it and Eeyore hiding up by my pillows :). Working on getting a Mickey bed set of some sort.

img1608pc2.jpg

This is on the same wall as my bed. The Fantasia wall art is from the Disney Store. The Pin set is from WDW. The lanyard and growing pin collection are from WDW/eBay. And the MK painting/coloring/drawing is from my Art class last year.

img1611lp5.jpg

The posters that numerous people have posted! I absolutely love these posters! I got these off eBay for $15 (shipping included) and my parents bought the poster frames.

img1613it6.jpg

Another poster from eBay!

The next few pictures come from my 8 foot long shelves above my desk :D

img1615ar8.jpg

First is a set of Mickey plush from the Disney Store. Next is a snowglobe that I also got at the Disney Store and lastly is an ornament (I LOVE ORNAMENTS, lol.) that my parents got me as part of a birthday present.

img1616pr7.jpg

First is the 40th anniversary Jungle Book snowglobe from the Disney Store. Next is another snowglobe from the Disney Store. Then is the Animal Kingdom Barbie Doll that I got at a Flea Market for $5 (and I have sisters so they enjoy it too). Then is my Pal Mickey and my Sorcerer's Hat from WDW. Lastly are my Disney themed tissue boxes that I thought looked cool.

img1617gr4.jpg

And the top shelf has all of my plush from the Disney Store and WDW (up to the pikachu!).

If you couldn't tell already, I absolutely LOVE Mickey. He's my favorite character. But my favorite 'edition' is the Sorcerer Mickey from Fantasia. I also have a load of Disney Videos/DVD's, sealed McDonalds toys, sets of glasses, cups, brochures from the parks, soundtracks, more Disney ornaments, lithographs (that need to be framed and hung), etc. There's also a WDW license plate border around the back license plate of the family car! And when I go back to WDW, I'm really going to look for some more decor for my room.

And I love this thread too! I have been going through all of the pages and it has inspired me even more to spend all my money on Disney stuff!

Now that I've taken like a whole page with one post, I think I'm done.

Enjoy! :)
