How do I get the PIN code mailings

I have signed up and receive the DVD planning video and I have never gotten any other mail from Disney, let alone PIN codes or discount offerings. Is this only for the Visa card people only? If not, how do I get on the mailing list?

PIN codes are given out at random. If you have ever registered at the official site, gone to WDW, or requested a planning video you are in the pool to get a PIN code. Don't feel too bad about not getting one. I have been going to WDW at least once a year for 12 years and have never received a PIN code.

Thanks - that's a rip off! I go every other year since it's opened and stay in Deluxe resorts and spend ALOT of money.

Which is probably why you're not getting PINs. They know you'll come anyway, and spend A LOT of money anyway. How does it benefit them to give you a discount to do something you've proven you'll do without one?

PINs aren't gifts, and they're not a reward for loyalty. They're meant to entice people to go to WDW, people who likely wouldn't have gone without a discount.

Very strange. For the last year or so now, I have received every single PIN offer I've ended up hearing about on here. Both through email and via postcard in the regular mail. I have no idea why I get them all.

Back to the OP's question, there doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason to who gets the codes. As long as you are signed up with Disney, you've at least got a chance with it.

In my circumstance, we get pin codes periodically in the mail...however, they are in my husband's name....who's never planned a trip to WDW and has not signed up for anything on Disney site...no idea how they got his name, but that's how we get pin codes mailed to us. Actually just got one in the mail a few days ago.

I will sometimes get them too, but they will come to me though through my email account.

At first I was going to respond that, well, your first part of the response is inaccurate because I go about three times a year and get PIN codes frequently. Then I saw the second part of your reply which made a lot more sense. I have never booked a trip to WDW and NOT had a discount of some kind.

Well I did receive one a couple of months of course the name was completely wrong.....nothing even remotely close to anyone in my family and I am the only one to ever live in my house.

To add to this, I have received 2 pins in the last year to my inbox with the right last name but the wrong zip. The quick dining one I couldn't use anyways, but I wanted to log in & see what it would save me. I couldn't, it kept saying my zip was wrong, so I just let it go. Then today, I get the offer AGAIN. Same last name, but this time the correct zip code. So I'm getting 2 offers - one right, one wrong - to the same email. I've checked all my disney related profiles & registrations, and nowhere do I have the wrong zip. This same thing happened to me w/the room discount pin - got two the same day in my inbox, 1 minute apart. I thought it was a duplicate email, but in fact one worked and one didn't.

Yep - no rhyme or reason!

My mom just received a pin code in her email with my name on it. A week ago, she called and reserved 2 rooms in July and both rooms received the free dining offer (she hadn't received the pin yet.) So the pin worked even before she got it and it had a different name on it. I doubt she would have been able to book online with the pin, but by calling it worked.

Now we're getting pins for whatever reason since our last visit in Jan/Feb 2010. 2 emails within a matter of a month.

I guess it was that pixie dust ....... or was it the snot :p

Sometimes the reservations CM will see the discount attached to your name and apply it for you. And you're right, you can't book with a pin online, only by calling in or through a travel agent.

I started receiving pin codes about a year ago. I get them constantly. Ever time I read about a pin code offer on this site, I have already received it in my e-mail and my regular mail. I never use them because we are vacation club owners.

I get them in my email, as well as in the mail, in my married name. My cousin lives in the old house we rented, and she gets them there in my maiden name. And I seem to get every single offer I hear about a well.

WOW! 40% off would be great! I got the free QS dining but I'm not going until November and don't really care about QS dining anyway. But I could certainly use that 40% off!
