How do I get the PIN code mailings

I have signed up and receive the DVD planning video and I have never gotten any other mail from Disney, let alone PIN codes or discount offerings. Is this only for the Visa card people only? If not, how do I get on the mailing list?

I know in the circumstance of the spring/summer room only special, when you added the tickets and quick service onto it, it ended up being the same price as the pin code.. We did this many times. Of course it depends on the dynamics of your travel party and the resort you are looking at as the discount is directly related to the type of resort you are looking at. The summer room only is out now and it is a little less of a savings than the previous disocunt but give it a try if you don't have the pin. It can save you hundreds.

We need time for things to happen.
I got the 40%

pin too...and we're rockin our vacation at the Poly for the same price we paid to stay at PORS last year. :D

We've been getting them in my email in droves over the last few months.
I've gotten the free quick service dining 3 times.

I know there was another thread here maybe about a week or so ago, and one of the posters I think it may have been JP explained in great detail how the PIN distribution system works....

WOW! 40% off would be great! I got the free QS dining but I'm not going until November and don't really care about QS dining anyway. But I could certainly use that 40% off!

Here's a tip, try saving a vacation on the website for the dates of your stay! That is how I got mine!

Me too the QSDP pin has been in my email 3 times since mid Feb! I was so happy for the 40% off pin!!! I am staying at AKL for about $250 more then what I was paying to stay at Pop for 9 days! I still can not believe it! I am BEYOND excited!!! :sohappy:

I've been emailed the QS Dining pin 2 times now (once just yesterday). I think that Disney resends them via email until the offer expires--to keep you thinking about it again and again. Makes sense. If you received the pin a month ago and didn't give thought to it, your circumstances/thoughts of booking a trip this month may have changed; hence, Disney being smart with their advertising tactics. (as always)

Also, even if you do not want to do QS Dining, look into upgrading. I think it was 'Yoda' on here that suggested I look into upgrading my QS pin, and then paying the difference. I did so--and ended up paying a difference of only 250 for 9 days for 2 people. It is a good deal if you're looking at going before August 14th.

I also compared the price I would pay without the pin to my price with the pin. Overall, I'm saying over 500. All in food! Wow!

Now, if only I could get my hands on a hotel pin for later in the year....(joking!)

Good luck!

does this still happen?

we have not been to WDW for just over two years.. now that I am back amoung the recovering economic era, I would love to go back either this fall, for Christmas, or next spring.. about 11 months from now.. are there still codes to be gotten?

and I felt that this was appropraite instead of starting a new thread..

do any of you still get discount codes?

Since my last visit in 2008, I lost count with the amount of PIN Codes Disney Destinations has sent me via emails and regular mail. I was always so bummed getting them because I knew I wasn't going back until this year. It was so many though.. I usually travel during a slow week in November every year. This year, in September during free dining and I recieved a code for free dining a few weeks before I booked my trip. They are totally random.

Thanks - that's a rip off! I go every other year since it's opened and stay in Deluxe resorts and spend ALOT of money.

How so? Pins are a marketing tool to sell more rooms. Nothing more or less. They aren't give aways or prizes just a way to increase sales. They aren't rewards for staying with them. Just marketing tools.

They really aren't random either but rather sent out according to Disney's business purposes and criteria for targeting certain groups of people who might be more likely to use them. Since only Disney knows the criteria they do seem random but it cones down to if you meet the criteria you get a pin if you don't then you don't.

Some years I get several some years none. They come by either email or snail mail. You can't make them give you one you can only do something like register them.

Just sit back and hope you sometime fit their marketing criteria.

I wonder if...

I wonder if I called and asked nicely if they would throw us a bone...the last time we went.. I had gotten a code but my father had just died and we couldn't go to Disney.. it was a bad year.. so about three years ago, I called, and suddenly.. one showed up in my snail mail and then in my email.. we booked about 6 months in advance.. I remember calling about 5 times that week.. but it was very very exciting, even for a man in his 50's.. the one phone cast member told me.. OH.. you have a VERY GOOD CODE.. it was 40 percent off on the All star.. or something like that..

I just wonder... I mean, if we wanted to go for Christmas..............which we have never been... just wondering out loud.. even if it wasn't Christmas week.. but some time in December..

Would I be able to call Disney and see if there is a pin code attached to my account or husband's name? I know that my husband has received pin codes in the past to his email. Unfortunately, he rarely checks that email and does not share the information with me.
