How did your baby do on the plane?

That's a cool idea - I like that. But I'm not sure what that does for a crash landing, where you are supposed to assume a bent-over position.

And thanks for the Fearless tip, but I try not to live my life in fear, and I certainly don't let movies control how I look at life in the real world. Or TV. Or newspapers. etc. Though I hear that is a great movie (I haven't seen it), our chances of dying in a plane crash are only about twice as likely as dying by being hit by lightning (no kidding). So I'm not going to devote any useless worry to it.

Oh, no. I didn't mean for safety in a crash landing (which I agree is highly unlikely.) I just meant for the turbulence safety issue that was brought up earlier. I think that the above "harness" would help with that.

Be glad you haven't seen it. My DH swore it was "the best movie." I despised it - I think I was sad for 3 days after watching it.

Wow! I love all the feedback you've all been giving! I'm not sure if I'm any closer to an answer, but my eyes have been opened for sure!

I like the idea of using Jetblue for the TV's!!

Every flight we have taken with our kids they have had their own car seat with. It is a good way to keep them in place and it is "familiar" surroundings to them. We always kept a supply of snacks, drink and "new" things for them to do. Be it books, coloring, games..whatever. My whole point is to get to my destination safe and headache free. I don't want them to have the option of getting out of their seat and thinking they can get up and move around. The car seat accomplishes that.

My daughters first flight was at 2years and we got a seat for her - so she sat in her car seat. I figured "she can't stand in the car, she sits in her car seat, so it should be the same traveling on a plane". I felt she would know she had to stay in her sit if she was in her car seat because that is what she knows. We had no problems.
