Mom and daughter time sounds wonderful. What did you end up getting Joel?

Oh, Thomas stuff - of course! It's a Quarry Mine Tunnel, also got him a pair of new engines. Mom got him something where he can make the engines stop and go with red/green lights and stop signs.
I figure we'll give him the engines on his birthday (Thurs.), and the tunnel Sat. when Mom and Dad come up for cake. :slurp: Abby still wants to get him something too.

Joel's classmates in the resource room love Thomas, so they have a ready made incentive in their teaching. I remember an article I once read that said autistic children really respond to Thomas. I suppose because of the lining up thing? Anyway, it's really awesome for socialization! :sohappy:

Hello - I'm back. Had to share: Abby was talking to one of her classmates as she got off the bus (she rides from another elementary back to ours so I can pick up), and I said to Joel: 'Oh look, Abby's talking to a boy'. He said 'No....no Abby!'

:D
