Honey I shrunk the audience

Maybe something w/ The Incredibles? :veryconfu
It is Future World & there are no Incredibles attractions.

Do we need to ruin another attraction with Pixar characters (or any Disney movie character, for that matter)? Why not bring back Figment and possibly the Dreamfinder for a new 3D film, as suggested on one of the other forums? Or even better, why not create a new character? I find that there are not enough characters that are unique only to Disney parks...

There's a pretty substantial rumor going around this board that HISTA is going away, and the theater will be repurposed for use by Imagination.

I never thought The Incredibles was meant to be futuristic. Superpowers aren't some new cutting edge technology - they're from comic books. Future World is better off without The Incredibles moving in.

Didn't a recent new rumor call for the total reworking of the pavilion, including the way traffic flows? I believe I read that Disney found many guests who visited one attraction in the pavilion never made it to the other. When the ride goes down, they'll take the whole pavilion down in order to fix that problem. Did I read this here, or am I dreaming?

As for the rumor that the attraction will be taking over the current theater space... I hope that doesn't happen. It seems like that would be an unnecessary step since the main attraction space is already two floors. I'm sure WDI can come up with something totally new for the theater rather than just ripping it out. I think having more than one attraction in each pavilion (where there is space, of course) is a good thing. (The Land is an especially good example of that.) And the Imagination is limitless, so why remove a perfectly useful theater that can be a blank canvas for all kind of new ideas in the future?

I for one would love to see an Incrediables attraction. I have no problem with Pixar being added to the Disney family. Most of the movies my younger kids have seen have all been Pixar related..........They dont even know who some of the older Disney charecters are. IMO WDW is geared towards the children. To keep it exciting for them, add the charecters they know and if that means Pixar then so be it............Would this be a bad time to add I liked the wand too!!! Just kidding  !!!

Oh god no.
Look, I love The Incredibles. It was a terrific super-hero movie enjoyable by both kids and adults on many levels. But why in the world do any of you think they have a place in FUTURE world? For one thing, the movie was set in the late 60's (yeah, Silver Age of comics, seriously, listen carefully to E's dialogue about the fates of the supers with capes, she rattles off some years). For another, there's nothing that screams "imagination" about the film or characters. HISTA works in a sense by featuring a family of inventors who create new things. If you absolutely have to tie this into a film, "Meet the Robinsons" would be a better choice.

But, WDW, and Epcot especially, are NOT simply "for children". Its "family entertainment" sure, but Walt himself said that "you're dead" if you only aim for kids. It should be something inspiring and imaginative. Something that captures the hearts of kids AND adults. Figment would be a great place to start, but don't stop there. Why limit it to already existing characters and stories? This is Epcot, not the Magic Kingdom. They should replace HISTA with something that breaks all the rules of we've come to expect from "4D" film attractions. Something that will make us want to re-experience it again and again. Something that will inspire us to learn and explore on our own when we get home.

I can't believe that Disney "fans" would have such narrow vision.

I know, there are many Disney characters that aren't even used. :o
I don't mind the Pixar characters though.

It was really meant as a joke...look at the thread-starter's avatar! :D

(Sorry about the 2 posts in a row; I will attempt to use the quote + feature next time) :)

While the technology for HISTA is obviously dated somewhat, the attraction remains quite popular - "D" ticket level - at Epcot. It holds full shows during most of the peak times of the day and people seem to really enjoy it when you go each time.
I don't see it going anywhere anytime soon or at least until Imagination gets refurbed.

HISTA was 0-10 minute wait while we were there last week.

There are just too many 3-D shows at Disney now, muppers, tough to be a bug, Philharmagic, HISTA...

You can't the popularity for a huge theater show by saying it was "only 0-10 minute wait". While you can surely get into any show just by walking up 5 minutes prior nowadays, the shows still consistently fill up. It doesn't matter if there isn't a 2 hour wait for an attraction if it's at capacity most of the time.

I would agree to a point. Though we were there while all of the groups were also visiting (Europe and Brazil). All other shows/movies of popularity were full early with a wait. Walk-ins to HISTA, Circle of Life and at certain times Tought to be a Bug were about it.

I don't have anything against HISTA, I just think they're getting to crazed with the 3-D movie concept.
