Kodak is STILL the Sponsor of Journey into Imagination! :) You're thinking about "Makin' Memories," the 1982 preshow to Magic Journeys. The Sherman Brothers wrote this song, along with One Little Spark and the Magic Journeys theme, and it played in several other JII instrumental loops.

This came directly from Guest Relations. It is possible that areas can be blocked off. We have people here going to EPCOT tomorrow, hopefully, so we'll be able to see what happens. :)

HISTA PreShow - True Colors Song

Does anyone know where I can get the exact version of True Colors from the preshow for Honey I Shrunk The Audience? I've tried Kazaa but, even though people have it labeled as the preshow version, it's really either just Phil Collins or Cindi Lauper singing.

Just call me sappy but it brings tears to my eyes every time I see the pictures of all the kids and then the kids singing the song in the background...(sigh)

I'm a little confused here, can someone please help me clear things up? Everyone keeps saying that Honey I Shrunk the Audience is opening tomorrow (May 30th). So if it's opening tomorrow when exactly did it go down for rehab? I saw the show on Monday (May 26) and it wasn't closed nor were there any changes to it at all. If anyone could help it would appreciate it. Thanks

ok two things, thier is only one version of the HISTA true colors song on the internet, really bad quality though.

also the disneyland version is an actula preshow, if i remember correctly its a fake news broacast of the imagination labs, talking to the inventors and checking out the inventions. It was ok, but i thought the true colors thing was nice and relaxing, a welcoming change.

I agree, while the pre-show at Disneyland was ok it isn't nothing to write home about. Most guests talk through it as they do with True Colors. I personally enjoyed True Colors more. The music is relaxing and not to loud so if you wanna talk you can talk. I hope the new pre-show is still a musical number.

HURRAY!!!!! Just like DMC, I too had a massive rant about the awful True Colors pre-show. This makes me so incredibly happy!!

Just for the record, the version at Disneyland Paris is also a news broadcast and not a Kodak commercial, so as of now Epcot is the only theater not showing the Eric Idle pre-show movie.

I believe it was closed the 27th, 28th, and 29th. And it should be open when Future World opens this morning.

The preshow (of course) has been closed since the 27th (if that is when HISTA went down), but will continue to remain "closed" until June 6th.

As for True Colors, I think it's one of the last pieces of EPCOT that actually relates a theme to real life. It has a lot of "PURPOSE of Imagination" (which otherwise we don't really learn about) and the whole "Dream it, do it" concept. But who knows, perhaps this new one will be better...and hopefully have some heart! :)

FYI. I don't think Phil Collins would be upset if they replaced True Colors. It's not even his song. True, he did record a version of it a few years ago, but Cindy Lauper wrote and recorded this song back in the early 80's.

Right, but what I was wondering was if there had always been a Kodak "commercial" before the show ever since Magic Journeys occupied the theater. I have the Makin Memories song (which, by the way, I think is pretty cool), and I think they changed the song again during Captain EO, I could be wrong though.

But what I am thinking is that Makin Memories and whatever was the preshow after that was always an ad for Kodak, right? I guess since Kodak doesn't sponsor the ones at the otehr parks, that might be why they have a different preshow?

PRESHOW CHANGE IS CONFIRMED

HONEY, I SHRUNK THE AUDIENCE show is now open. It was closed May 28th and 29th.

FASTPASS will be closed through June 5th (reopening the 6th) for PRESHOW CHANGE, according to the information held by EPCOT Management and Guest Relations.

It is unconfirmed if the preshow is currently in operation or not; however, because Fastpass is down for that reason, chances are the new preshow will premiere on June 6th, 2003.
