Comments from Bob Iger on the ongoing writers and actors strikes during the earnings call.

“Nothing is more important to this company than its relationships with the creative community. That includes actors, writers, animators, directors and producers,” Iger said. “I have deep respect and appreciation to how vital they are to the extraordinary creative enginge that drives this company and our industry. It is my fervent hope that we can quickly find solutions to the issues that have kept us apart these past few months. And I am personally committed to working toward this result.”

He should have started with this a couple weeks ago instead of his billionaires retreat statements.

This strike is the satirical gift that keeps on giving...

“Porter said he was frustrated by the idea that the strike is "just a bunch of millionaires trying to get more millions," as he's seen some describe it.”

“According to Celebrity Net Worth, Porter has an estimated net worth of $4 million.”

I don’t typically follow Hollywood so I have no idea how accurate these numbers are but this is what Joe public is seeing in our news feeds. I know there’s struggling artists, the news is doing a horrible job of highlighting them though.

However, instead of Iger or other entertainment executive initial comments regarding strikes that received attention, Rachel Zegler's remarks and subsequent backlash online making her most-hated and controversial figure in Hollywood. Netizens are very aware about Zegler presence during the strike.

"Rachel Zegler has quickly become one of the most hated actors on the Hollywood picket lines. Not due to any fault of her own, but thanks to a toxic crossover between anti-strike sentiments and misogynistic attitudes toward Disney Princess branding."

Another quote according to DailyDot says: "One TikTok with 2.6 million views derisively compared Zegler to actors who “risk their lives” doing dangerous stunts. This conservative TikToker argued that Zegler shouldn’t try to elicit sympathy from working-class people when her job involves “doing luxurious things like being in a princess dress.”"

Why am I not surprised? I mean, she was great as Maria in West Side Story.

Probably a case of high net worth with poor cash flows. $4 million might sound like a lot to some people, but that's probably not a huge amount if you live in the LA area.

I also take those "celebrity net worth" valuations with a grain of salt, since a lot of those calculations seem to include "intangibles" that can't really be liquidated for cash.

Still, I wouldn't mind having a net worth of $4 million...

That headline is elitist perfection. "I don't know why everyone hates me for saying it."

So in the latest update to a story she should just clam up about, she is now portraying herself as the victim. 🤣 :banghead: 🤣
Oh give me a break! She did it to herself!

I saw that one too and my jaw dropped open that he would have the guts to publicly blame the 3 week old Actor's strike for that.

He either has purchased a home that is way more than he could afford, or he is spending almost all of his money on something else besides his monthly mortgage and home insurance. His lavish and very expensive couture wardrobe is part of it, but there has to be something else that is taking away all his cash flow. I'm betting it's a combination of all of that.

What is also obvious is that he has absolutely no savings, and bad credit that prevents him from getting a personal loan from any bank in the USA. Which is idiotic for anyone who has been spending as much money as he has on clothes and jewelry and an expensive LA home.

This is not a story about the Hollywood Strikes. This is a story about an "artist" who made very bad financial decisions for himself.

And yet, I guess that probably is a story about the Hollywood Strikes. ;)

I’ve always wondered how people go back to work after saying such terrible things during strikes.

It’s not like there’s hundreds of studios to pick from, how does an actor or director ever find work again after trashing the people at the top who have final say on who does or doesn’t get hired.

The way he talks no one will touch him after the actor's strike is over. No one going to want to work with him. I guess he better get back to writing songs.

I didn't know what this was about until I read the quote about being paid to stand around in a princess costume.

Let's see how many people want to pay to watch her stand around in a princess costume first. You're not a star until the box office makes you one.

I'd pay to see Gal Gadot stand around in a princess costume.
