A thought:

If you have questions about an upcoming reservation and the status of the resort you'll be staying at, there is a phone number you can call that will have information and be able to answer your questions.

YAY! STRAWS IN AK!

Honestly, this is the most exciting thing in Merf's post for me.

I am a straw snob, I hate drinking directly out of a cup when I'm not at home. You just never know where that cup has been. :lookaroun

:sohappy:

Now, to solve the sloshing cup problem w/o lids.....

OH NO!! why is the boardwalk under tarps??? im leaving in 15 days!! will it be gone?:veryconfu

When I visisted WDW in mid-to-late October (Oct. 20-26), I noticed that area mentioned above -- with walls up and scaffolding all over the place.

Seems that it's getting more intense. Well, it's sort of the off-season.

Half the buildings are now going to be painted in camo and turned into the Guantanamo Bay resort. It will actually work great across the pond from the Beach and Yacht clubs.

Bingo.

1971...
Magic Kingdom, Contemporary, Polynesian, Fort Wilderness.

2007:
Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney Studios, Animal Kingdom, Blizzard Beach, Typhoon lagoon, Downtown Disney, Winter Summerland, Fantasia Gardens, Wide World of Sports, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Beach Club Resort, Boardwalk Inn, Contemporary Resort, Grand Floridian Resort, Polynesian Resort, Wilderness Lodge, Yacht Club Resort, Beach Club Villas, Boardwalk Villas, Fort Wilderness, Old Key West Resort, Wilderness Lodge Villas, Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa, Caribbean Beach, Coronado Springs, Port Orleans Riverside, Port Orleans French Quarter, All-Star Movies, All-Star Music, All-Star Sports, Pop Century Resort

That's a few more Christmas trees than you can put up in one night.

And let's not forget Shades of Green and the military's own touch on the holidays (though I have never seen Shades decorated for the December holidays). But I do remember what it looked like in December and January when it used to be the Golf and Tennis Resort / Disney Inn.

Could it be? Yes, it is the new fence/gate/rail thingy!

Why is it you seem to be excited about it? I HATE it.

1. It makes EPCOT look like a prison or some kind of barricade in a battlefield.

2. It aids to the already-here-annoyance of the awful new security setup that makes me walk way out of my way.

3. It makes my favorite Restroom pointless, because by the time you get over there you might as well have just gone in the park and found the next restroom.

4. It ruins the clean look of the area, and creates an intrusive visual barrier to the park. It violates pretty much every rule in the WDI handbook.

In short, it is awful. All I can say is this...

In the year 2007, the crime rate at Walt Disney World increased 100%. The park EPCOT was then walled off to become Maximum Security Prison EPCOT. Disney Security surrunded the park, like an army.

John Carpenter's Escape from EPCOT

i dont know ive been asking it but no one will answer:shrug:

Is it possibly the rumoured room renovations starting? You could do a search and see what you find.

I don't like the gate fence things either. It will make access to the kennel a pain and I don't like how closed-in it feels. If it had a more open architecture it might be better.
