Ill give you the fact that your defense is top notch, perhapps the best in the league. Every shot on goal was a rebound but the defensemen handled them well. Game 3 had 15 shots on goal from the highest scoring team in the nhl it wasn't emery causing that.
My point exactly, Emery doesn't make the Sens, the Sens make Emery. He only has to look brilliant a third as much as most of Ottawa's opposition goalies. But he does have a habit of doing just that at just the right times.

Same old crap. The difference in the game is stupid penalties and a terrible break on the last goal. Ottawa hasn't impressed me, but you don't have to be impressive to win. All that matters is who has more goals at the end of the game. Stop the stupid penalties.

These careless penalties are really killing us! :brick:
No, they're not! :D The Ducks, on the other hand...

Ottawa makes the difference. It's tied now, but Ottawa will impress yet.

Way to make up for the stupid penalty Ryan! Just play smart guys. When it's been 5 on 5 it hasn't even been close. Ottawa is very opportunistic and if they get many more power play chances they will score.

And they will... Anaheim is handing us penalties all game on a silver platter.

YES!!! :sohappy: :D :sohappy:

One down, 3 to go!!
Six to go. The Ducks deserved that one, but they're not gonna walk away with it. At least not yet.

These are two well-matched teams. I expect we'll have plenty of time to argue our teams' relative merits. :animwink:

Hey! you edited!

Actually, I think you did deserve it. Ottawa collapsed in the third, that long time off took out their legs.

Yes I did. I was speaking more about wins, not games to go. I know we can't win it in 4, but one can dream.

With the way we played in the first two and making all those stupid penalties, we didn't. I didn't watch much of the 3rd, I was too busy freaking out, and making cookies.

I don't know. Other than the first 10 minutes of the game and the Penality Killing, I think we pretty much dominated this game, especially in the 3rd. Game 2 is a huge one because it would put a lot of pressure on them to win 2 in a row themselves at home. It would help a lot of we could get the lead early and not depend on coming from behind again like we had to do TWICE tonight. The Ducks also have to do a little better on their own penalties and get more good shots.

Either way, that sure was a fun game to watch. Unfortunatly, most sports fans were probably watching something else. I'm relatively new to hockey (started watching in 2003 when Anaheim made that long playoff run) and it's clearly my 3rd favorite sport to watch behind football and basketball. I think it's a shame that the marketing of the sport is so poor.

Come to Canada! :D

It's marketed really well here. Very few here get as animated or just plain crazy about NBA, MLB or NFL here, we follow it, but don't obsess. CFL and NHL are our main passions. I can guarantee that at work today no-one will be talking basketball.

Hey MontyMon... I didn't realize until today that you're from Ottawa too. Were you watching at home or from somewhere on the Sens Mile?

dxwwf3 - if you ever travel to Canada you should try and catch a game here. Even during the reg. season it's pretty crazy. But for playoffs... there were 16,000 fans at the rally at City Hall (in the middle of a work day!)

Well of course it's marketed well in Canada

But considering most of the teams in the NHL are in America and that's where the big TV contracts are, I think it's a shame that horse racing and golf get more attention than hockey. I even enjoyed watching when I knew nothing about it whatsoever. I still am at about a Level 3 out of 5 as far as knowledge of the game, but even before I knew what offsides was it was still a lot of fun to watch.

Its a border town thing. You see teams with a close border with Canada and they go nuts for their teams. Just like tim hortons doughnuts although they are nowhere slose to as good as they used to be, wegmans supermarket is the best now.

Yes, I'm Ottawa born and bred!

I watched at home, 60" widescreen in HD is hard to top, besides the Sens' Mile is a bit too raucous for my old bones - I had to be at work at 7 this morning. The other advantage to watching at home is I can sip on my Blue Label while watching the game... I can't afford to buy it on Elgin! :lookaroun

Didn't NBC cut to the Preakness last week sometime in the middle of Sabres-Sens OT?
Bettman was interviewed during the game last night and he completely ignored the commentator when he mentioned horse racing's relative importance...

Well, if Emery weren't there Ottawa wouldn't even be in the game... Hope they can rally in the third. If they do, they owe Ray a raise!
