I think Ottawa have figured out Giguere now... Anaheim playing better may not be enough any more.

Not sure what I think about Pronger getting a second one-day suspension in the play-offs. But at least they did something.

If Ottawa wins tomorrow, the Ducks may not be able to recover.

Let's look back at the goals from yesterday.

1st - Weird deflection in an attempted pass. Good play nevertheless

2nd - Bonehead play with not enough men on the ice. Still a good shot, but probably wouldn't have had the good look if every one is out there.

3rd - Deflection off the power play that is kicked in for the goal. If the original call is a goal, then it would have been tough to overturn. But the call on the ice was a wave off and video evidence wasn't conclusive enough to overturn. I think it was a little home cooking, but that can go the other way next time.

4th - Pronger hits the wide open net. Cleanest goal of the night. Unfortunately he was wearing a white jersey.

5th - Solid goal. Nothing else can be said.

They played much better, but they hardly figured out Giggy. Lucky bounces are a part of the game, but Anaheim's goals in this series have been much less fluky. Anaheim controls this series. If they come to play and stop committing stupid penalties, they will win every time. Ottawa should have won this game feeding off the crowd paired with the stupidity of Anaheim. However, they are going to have to play better in the next game if they are to win. But if they can win, we could be headed to a seven game series.

I'll give you the rest, but Canadian TV [CBC] showed a clear, incontrovertible replay that showed Alfie's foot didn't move toward the net until after the puck had deflected off his skate, there was a slight pause and then his skate pushed toward the net in an effort to stop before hitting it.

They did play better and will take this momentum and play better still tomorrow. If the rattle Anaheim's confidence enough tomorrow, they may well take game five and Anaheim won't be able to stretch it to seven... :lookaroun

Of course, I could be wrong...

[It'd help a lot if Redden could get back on his game]

From what I saw, I can't believe it was enough to overturn it. However, they could have different rules than what the NFL has, which is what I'm used to. It takes a lot to overturn a call made on the field in the NFL. And with all that said, I probably don't know the NHL rules enough to be honest.

Yes if Ottawa wins tomorrow and in Game 5 in Anaheim, it will more than likely be over. No doubt about it.

The NHL senior official can overturn any call on review. The Coach just has to request a review. I'm not sure what happens if the review doesn't overturn the call, if there's any penalty for requesting a review that doesn't change anything or if there's a limit on unsuccessful requests? The NHL is prepared to say that referees can't possibly see everything.

Whatever the rule is, I've never seen any penalties actually imposed.

The Ducks made the mistake of going after Neil... A few more dumb penalties early on. Ottawa's looking strong.

I believe I'm done watching this game. Ottawa has completely outplayed Anaheim, but the Ducks can't beat them and the officials. The flopping was out of control and led to the heartbreaker and possibly game winning goal. Never should have been a power play to begin with. Ottawa probably will score a few more anyways, but that first one goes to the officials. They are going to have to watch for the flops and penalize Ottawa for it. But I know that won't happen at home, so there is really no need to watch the next two periods.

It is really sickening to see the sport I love and played be ruined by these dopes flopping all over the place. I hope the refs got a nasty call from the Director of Officiating.

 Where's the faith?! There's always a chance to come back.

And now we're winning! See, never give up no matter how crappy we're playing.

If they alternate playing well for a period, Ottawa's gonna come back in the third... :lookaroun [I hope]

This is a strange game so far.

Not quite sure what happened to the Senators that were there in the first.

I walk away for a few minutes and come back to a tied game! :brick:

Ducks better come back in the third...

edit: The nerve of that guy!!! Like that wasn't intentional! :fork:

I doubt it was intentional, there was still 4+ seconds on the clock. Alfie scored with less than a second left in the first, he's not going to give them access to the puck on purpose.

Ducks are gonna be pi$$ed coming into the third and get plenty of their favourite stupid penalties...

Lets win it at home guys! :sohappy:
And more importantly, they didn't get the penalties... Good for them.

Luckily I cooled down (I always do) and watched easily the best game of the series. Neither team played bad more than just one period. 1 went to Ottawa and 2 went to Anaheim. 3 was very evenly played, but we just sneaked one in. I actually think Ottawa played better tonight than in Game 3, but the bounces didn't go their way. Actually none of the goals tonight were flukey in my opinion. Both goalies were fantastic (Giggy saved the game by only giving up 1 in the 1st and the Emery glove save later on was the best of the game) and both teams played very hard. Probably the best played game of the playoffs that I've seen.

Winning tonight was huge, winning without Pronger was huge, but they CAN NOT rest and say they just have to win one of the next 3. They have to put this team away or they can find themselves in a Game 7 very easily. For the first time all series long, Ottawa impressed me and if they series gets pushed to the brink, they will be tough to beat.

I also think it will be very interesting to see if the NHL suspends Alfredson for the next game because of his conduct at the end of the 2nd. Even if they do nothing, his actions sparked the Ducks and I think had a large part in the victory tonight.

Wow, we got so lucky. I thought that one shot was in.

OT: I liked the Pirates music in the begining.

Kinda random, but I used to ride (horses) with Randy Carlyle's daughter.

Well that's finally the lucky, flukey goal we haven't had in this series. If we can hold Ottawa scoreless for the rest of the 2nd, I think it's over. We were due a complete BS goal and we got it.
