I think this is related to some fire safety regulations in Hong Kong and has nothing to do with COVID.that is a weird design choice. Does anyone know if it was always planned or is it a covid one way change?
These are standard exit signs. If they were one way signs then they would say something on the back.that is a weird design choice. Does anyone know if it was always planned or is it a covid one way change?
The time to come up with a better solution is during the design process. The Codes of Practice are publicly available and lay out the requirements for egress signage.I think this is related to some fire safety regulations in Hong Kong and has nothing to do with COVID.
Tragic af. I hope WDI/HKDL will cope with the authorities and find a better solution.
Officially no but all of the aerials/track layout show Barnstormer+ I think it is most comparable to one half of the SDMT.Did we ever get more info on the sleigh coaster? It’s hard to tell from pictures whether it’s shaping up to be the park’s Barnstormer+ or something more substantial.
Was their a source that confirmed this?Although it's nice to see progress on the exterior, I've heard that the opening date of Arendelle has been pushed back to 2023.
But Disney's not the only operating partner, and I don't get the sense that the government wants to totally throw in the towel either. Now that HK has decided not to renew the land contracts allowing for a second park to be built on the land beside HKDL, I dont know how much more investment Disney wants to put into HK. If you look on google maps you can see the area that was supposed to be an expansion park is being rapidly developed now. So...that kinda sucks. Maybe things will change in the future though who knows.
Custom fonts are allowed in the US and as far as I can tell by checking the Codes of Practice, Hong Kong as well. The size and color of the text is regulated but not any particular font.To my understanding, custom fonts for exit signs are not allowed in many countries anymore, so that is probably why newer attractions (like Falcon) simply encase them in themed boxes.
Hong Kong may not have an equivalent law, but in the US exit signs have to be in sans serif font to be considered ADA compliant.Custom fonts are allowed in the US and as far as I can tell by checking the Codes of Practice, Hong Kong as well.
