HKDL gets new castle, frozen land and marvel land.

Hong Kong may not have an equivalent law, but in the US exit signs have to be in sans serif font to be considered ADA compliant.
The sans serif requirement of 703.2.3 is specific to raised characters on tactile signs. 703.5.3 swaps sans serif for “conventional in form” but you can entirely avoid 703.5 by providing a raised character and Braille sign complying with 703.2 and 703.3.

Yeah, youre right. FInancialy it doesnt make sense at all. I just wish HK would get a 2nd park like the HKDS idea on ideal buildouts, that would make HK a major Disney tourist destination. Not that HK isnt a major tourist destination now of course.

Its really a catch22 situation. The resort doesn’t justify a second park based on visitor numbers but people don’t visit because there is only one park. A built out Hong Kong would have been a great resort. I know if it was like this I would have stayed for a couple of nights on my way home (its so close to the airport) but when I visited i visited from the city as a day trip

They also still don't quite have enough to do in their first park, which isn't fully built out either. It remains the smallest castle park not only in terms of acreage, but also terms of things to do. The attractions were built to handle much larger numbers of guests than they currently need most of the year (and we saw with DCA that a rebooted park with increased attention didn't necessarily translate to longer lines on any of the original attractions that remained), but in another catch 22 situation, they have to keep investing in new attractions, thanks to their operating partner, in the vain hope that the park will suddenly turn into a draw. The public that won't turn out for the first park likely wouldn't turn out for a second until HKDL has finally grown into a place people find acceptable. As you say, it's a complicated problem all stemming from the initial built that I'm not sure how to solve. The park appears to be permanently tainted in everyone's consciousness.

If people were pouring through the door, or it was Florida, they could get away with another gate (though I'm not sure modern Disney has any idea how to make a compelling second gate; it will be interesting to see what happens when Shanghai inevitably gets one), but not now, and not while they have struggled to grow in attendance and stay on firm financial footing.

frozen land will be a huge boost for hkdl, even though the land is kindo of underwelming as its getting a clone of FEA and a super small coaster, its still a step in the right direction. I dont think HK has any water rides besides Small World but I may be wrong, so adding a log flume even though its a 30 year old design is still a good choice. But I dont think using a 30 year old flume is a good choice for Paris. They are really messing up with that one imo

Wishful thinking I know, but I would love to see Disney add their old concept of Geyser Mountain to this park. Stick it right next to the runaway mine cars and extend Grizzly Gulch. That land would give a one, two punch for thrills; kinda like Frontierland at WDW does with Splash and BTM right next to each other.
How hard/expensive would it really be for Disney to do, they already have the ride system and the concept from Disneyland and Disneyland Paris, slight reworks to fit into Grizzly Gulch doesn't seem like it would break the bank.

I like the concept, but I've always felt that the Geyser Mountain building looked too tall and would make "Big" Thunder look puny. Grizzly Gulch Mountain (Grizzly Peak?) would look even smaller.

I am unsure of the new castle. I think it too tall. But perhaps I love the classic Sleeping Beauty Castle against the mountain backdrop.

But HKDL has so much potential! I hope Disney bump more projects like Mystic Manor and Grizzly Gulch. I would hope Disney ditches Toy Story Land. It the weakest and cheap offering ever done for an place where locals feel cheated with their value worth.
