HISTK play area and Backlot Tour

Am I the only one who thinks that with Pixar Place going into DHS, the HISTK playground should/could EASILY be rethemed to fit "A Bug's Life"?

Also, do any of you feel that the Backlot Tour will eventually get a major overhaul OR go the way of the dinosaur?

Bugs life idea is a good one.

I'm hoping that the backlot tour wont go away, I like it and I think it holds enough interest for first time and occasional visitors to justify it staying.

I think a bugs life would fit very well there also but then again a bugs life movie was a while ago so the attraction may be outdated almost from the start. A new fresh idea would go very well there. Also i remember from listening to podcasts that the backlot tour maybe be scheduled to close by 2010 or 11 I don't remember but its was not a fact just a rumor. But the rumor was said to be with good sources. So don't take it from me like I said its just a rumor but t would make sense there is so much good space back there.

The Back Lot Tour needs a new high light.
Catasrophe Canyon is very good but it is old hat at this point.
Keep it but add a new feature to the tour.

Suggestions could include:

Meet a famous actor or character somewhere on the tour.
A simulated helicopter ride in a gun ship.
The tour train goes through a tunnel where surprises happen.
The tour train goes through a famous movie set - something to replace the houses that used to be on the tour.

Great idea about Bug's Life. It would also be easy to do. Put up a new sign and throw in some characters from the movie throughout the play area.

The whole "Backlot Tour" concept requires a lot of space and that is not something DHS has enough of. The only way it could be done properly is if they put up a bridge and built it in an adjoining property. But I doubt that is in the plans.

And Honey, I Shrunk the Kids isn't out dated? The movie premiered in 1989. At least A Bug's Life is within the last 10 years and not pushing 20 years.
And for that matter, Toy Stoy premiered before A Bug's Life and they have just been featured in an attraction without a sequel premier for another 2 years.

I think A Bugs Life would make a great "mini-land". Perhaps they are considering a small area for every Pixar movie? That would be amazing.

I think they should take out the Pearl Harbor part of the backlot tour, and replace it with a PIXAR Animation Tour, showing how they make Pixar movies. I don't about the rest though..

That wouldn't be a bad idea if it were to go into The Magic of Disney Animation...

They should take the trucks out of Catastrophe Canyon and then the canyon would be a great scene for Radiator Spring Racers. Then they could use the other land the backlot used for Radiator Springs.

No offence but this is kind of a bad idea. They JUST changed the park name to DISNEY Hollywood Studios, they should make the ride disney too, not just pixtar, if they do that, they might as well make the parks name: Pixtar Place.

They could - if they had a spare $150m for one DHS attraction :hammer:

Um...I don't know if it was joking or in relation to DCA changes...but I believe they just spent a good enough money giving us the first taste of pixar place.

When did Disney buy "Pixtar"?? :lookaroun

It was a few years after they bought ABCD television network! which produce shows like LOSTED and Hunchback Betty and Bored Housewives, I heard this season their bringing back Pushing up Roses (staring betty white...because Rose was her name on Golden Girls) :lookaroun:lookaroun:lookaroun Sorry I had to say that...

Oh and FYI...um Disney Owns Pixtar (Pixar) and recently its the only big popular animation disney has lately put out. And it's part of Disney...just like Hyperon Book company, ESPN, and ABC you see this through out the park...sure not as much...but there is a whole complex, hotel, and Event Weekend dedicated to ESPN and even a weekend to ABC soaps. The only reason why we are suddenly seeing many Pixar rides is because a) it takes a long time to plan some of these rides b) before we owned Pixar it was very ffy on making attractions from their movies they only slightly started doing it...and then when the breakup happened it paused all plans and we had to make sure everything said Pixar created ...presented by Walt Disney Co.

We are just catching up on the delay Pixar...or Pixtar (just kidding) rides.
