I have been reading some post from the outside for a few years and have found many interesting threads. I have decided to join hoping to expand my interest and knowledge of Disney.

My family of 4 visited Disney for the first time in 2005, we have been going every year since then. In 2006 we became DVC members, was the best investment we ever made. Our past trips we always made during the 4th of July, but this yr we decided to go a different time since the touring groups at the parks made it not a very magical visit.

Can any one tell me what the parks are like during Thanksgiving? We will be arriving Sat. Nov. 21st and departing Nov. 28th. Are most of the x-mas decorations up? How about the resorts are they fully decorated? My DH really wants to see the gingerbread house @ the GF.

Thanks!

Hello there and welcome :sohappy:

If I'm not mistaken, WDW begins to put up Christmas decorations the day after Thanksgiving.
So since it's on 11/26 and your last day is 11/28, you'll probably see some things.
Great time to go, by the way.

Have fun!

Thanks, but I thought on the travel they had a segment on holiday decorations & x-mas @ Disney W/ Samantha Brown and they actually start putting lights up the end of Sept. like the Osborn family lights.

Wow now I am thinking of extending my stay by a day or two, just see the magic.

Oooh well Osbourne is a different story.
They start stringing those early (not so sure if it's as early as September though, I don't know) because there are sooooo many, like millions, and it's so elaborate.

But just general decorations go up the day after Thanksgiving as far as I can remember.
