My wife gave birth to our first child last Thurs. She was admitted on Tues. 21st, after having blurred vision at work. She was 4 days past her due date, and was in pretty bad shape suffering from Preclampsia (sp?) and Toxemia (sp?). I felt really bad for her as she had 6 IV's going at a time, and required a blood transfusion. After 2 days of no progression, they decided to do a C-Section on Thurs. morning. Anyway, Aidan Patrick was born on Thurs. weighing 10lbs 14oz. We never expected a baby that big. My wife and the baby are doing fine now and were able to go home yesterday. By the way, does anyone know when I will be able to sleep again?:snore: I've never attached pictures on here before and I did it on the test board to make sure I did it right, but now it won't let me attach it here. So here is the link to his picture on the test forum. If anyone knows how to fix this so it will attach here instead, go ahead and do it, I would be very grateful.

Congratulations.

If you go back to your test post and delete the image from there, you should then be able to post it in this thread.

Fantastic! Glad everyone is doing well.

Let's see, no sleep when they're a baby...
no sleep when they are around 2 or 3, because you're trying to figure out how to deal with the tantrums and wonder if you are being too harsh when you say "NO" for the 15th time in 2 minutes...
no sleep when they start school, because you realize they are growing up so fast...
no sleep when they hit about 7 or 8, because you realize they can rationalize and use logic in their arguments, and the party is really over...

need I go on? And you thought RnR was a wild ride!

In about 21 years!! Seriously, because he's so large, it should be fairly soon. My daughter was larger than my son at birth, and slept through the night earlier. It also depends upon how well he's eating (which is indirectly related to size). My son was a preemie..once he reached a certain weight, he slept better.

How soon is soon? Daughter....about 6 weeks. Son...about 3 months. (let's hope you're in the 6 week range.)

I forgot to add...the morning of his first full night sleeping will be one of the scariest in your life! You'll wake up and think "Oh my God! What's wrong with the baby??!!!"

Congratulations! I'm glad everything worked out OK...I know how scary things must have been.

He is very handsome. Congratulations! :sohappy:

As far as sleep, heheh. When you love them you get through it, and when they finally do start sleeping you will realize that it wasn't that long you had to wait just remember his tummy is a lot smaller than ours. More than likely, no matter how good your intentions are, I bet you will be getting to sleep more than your wife will in the long run. Oh, and be on the lookout for those nights at 3am when you have to go to the emergency room. Twice for me. Good Luck on being a new Daddy, you're gonna love it, those moments are priceless!:)

Congratulations! Life will never be the same and you will enjoy every minute of it. From the wisdom of my father: you never pay for your raising until you raise one of your own!
