be assured... costumes are gettin slight modifications... ron will be blonde too... these are out for training purposes so that as soon as the new costumes, hair stylings are available, the daily operations of sets can begin. expect them some time in november.

personally, i dont see that much of a difference btw the costumes and the artwork... even the balooning of the pants on the bottom is accurate... you've got to admit, they are pretty accurate designs...

i for one disagree with the concensus that they shoulda been plastic heads... i think the interaction and fluidity of movement of a real person will create a more realistic moment for the guests. and, by makeing them face, the opportunity to utilize them in live action shows are greater... cuz really, u wanna see kim and ron runnin around, not just standin there cuz the costumes/heads limit their range of motion.

curious... would u guys ratehr see hercules... or meg... or any of those kinds of characters be plastic heads? (meg is VERY similar to kim, in terms of shape of face.) cuz they are drawn similarly, very cartoonish, not entirely realistic faces... but they are represented as face characters, for the better... my theory is that the incredibles and the toy story are plastics b/c they are computer animated characters-- meant to be a certain proportion, and the plastic is the most effective means of replicating that cg feel... the hand drawn "real people" end up as face b/c its a more forgiving transfer. sure there are some exceptions... (Lilo, smee, hook- maybe its the likelihood of findin ppl that determines them...) just a theory. but in any case, i personally think a plastic head kim and ron would frankly be scary... we're talkin universal's rugrats scary...

and rufus is present, in teh backpack... but its a plush, so really, do u wanna see a static rufus like that? better for ron to say he's holdin down the fort back at bueno nacho... and there was a costume designed for a short person, lets jsut say thanks to rufus' skin tone, u prolly wouldnt have wanted ur kids to take a picture with that thing...

Ya know, I was just about to go off on a long tirade about how stupid it was to make a face character out of an animated character. And then I remembered...

Cinderella, Prince Charming, Ariel, Snow White, Belle, Alice, Peter Pan, Wendy, Cruella, Malificent, and every other face character I've ever seen.

Words cannot express how dumb I am feeling. :brick: :lol:

Maybe the "disconnect" in my brain is due to the fact that all of the other face characters are from cartoons that were drawn in a more (I DON'T MEAN THIS LIKE YOU THINK I MEAN IT) anatomically-accurate way (very human-like facial features rather than an obvious "cartoony" style of Kim Possible)

technically, the show wasnt canceled... see, disney channel only needs enough episodes to put a show in daily rotation.. and that number happens to be 65 episodes, or roughly 3 seasons... thats why all of the shows on disney channel only have three seasons, thats all the number they purchase, and it doesnt make sense for them to buy more seasons, since they have enough to put the show into its constant daily rotation... however, kim possible is recognized as being very popular, which is why they have made two made for tv movies after the series conclusion... and are now bringing out these walkaround characters... i wouldnt be surprised to continue to see more KP spinoff material, as the company does recognize the popularity, and will certainly try to continue to make a profit from the brand... but as far as the tv series goes, it has served its purpose... i am personally hoping for more movies... and would LOVE to see maybe a spinoff series... since new episodes arent an option, maybe we can get a whole new series out of it...

but thats getting off topic.

Not only that... but the princesses, etc. have OBVIOUS costumes. Kim and Ron's costumes look more like street clothes... If I saw them walking through the park I might not even realize they were characters...

I think the biggest problem is the age difference. Most face characters also match the ages of the characters. That is most likely why Lilo is not a face character. Obviously they aren't going to have an actual child go out to do Meet and greets. These guys look like they are in their 20s, when the characters of Kim and Ron are supposed to be in their earlier teens. Add to that the hard-to-distinguish costumes and they aren't as effective as other characters are.

I think the costumes are rocking. sure they need a little hair work but atleast they have there bases coverd for now about why there like that.

I think that they could possibley get away with more of a plasticy looking wig for both of them, cause it will make them look more cartoony, and the fact that kims hair itself moves in giant clumps, not like real hair that flys everywhere. and I dont think they could get ron's hair color on a real person, no matter how hard they tried.

and for Rufus, yeah I'd love to see him too, and maybe he'll show up later on. but for right now I like the excues they give, its totaly in charactor for ron and rufus.

FYI, for those wondering why Ron has brown hair and not blonde, KP took Ron to some new hair salon to change his look so he could get all the chicks. Unfortunately, Ron wasn't too crazy about the change and should be going back to blonde very soon! Enjoy!

These guys look like they are in their 20s, when the characters of Kim and Ron are supposed to be in their earlier teens.

Maybe we can say that this is a continuation of the series... explanation: kim possible lasted for three seasons, each season assumably one year in span... we started in the freshman yr of high school... at the end of the series, we can assume they were abt to be seniors in high school, so they were eekin closer to 17... kim was goin through drivin school, so she must have been at least 16... adjust a lil for good measure, and say that they are maybe now closer to graduating, and they are no doubt 17... then, look at the WB, a station that has ur normal high school kid shows... characters that are sposed to be 17ish... and the actors that usually PLAY these roles... early 20s!! so... using this theory... if Kim Possible were a live action series on the WB, the actors would be in there 20s... meaning the face character equivalent would viably appear to be in their 20s... though we all know they are actually younger.

okay.. so maybe that explanation is stretching it a bit...

(at least this is an age easier for casting to match than pan and alice...ya know...i mean... um... casting? what? pan came from neverland... alice, wonderland... duh)

For those of you asking about Rufus, there was a walk a round version but he was seen at a special parade for the Disney Studios Burbank. I doubt we will ever see him. He does have an autograph though. I have it in one of my books.

I'm disappointed. I don't think they should have gone with plastice heads, but after seeing this maybe they should have.

And why do they continue to show new episodes of KP? Are there still some from the original batch we haven't seen yet?

Well, I think the face characters themselves are very cute. Perhaps with more alterations they will resemble their animated partners. But I wouldn't in a million years have guessed who they were. In fact if I'd seen them in the park, I'd probably be wondering, what the heck is with those two and those too-legit-to-quit MC Hammer pants? :lookaroun

I agree that they could be better, but they did a decent job. They just need to make Ron's hair blonde, fix the color of KP's hair also. As for Rufus, maybe they could give ron a little puppet that looks like rufus, and also maybe give Kim a Kimmunicator.
