Well, we gotta admit, his little story is really incredible, the way he did it and all.

I had several photos of Channing, Dreamfinder, and Figment I found on some videos...and I just couldn't resist. Working with characters is one of the most fun things to do as a Disney fan!
But...MORE IMPORTANTLY...
I would be happy to be at WDW in 1971...but I'd be happier to see the World today - but for everyone.
For example, the new and old Enchanted Tiki Rooms. One is really for the "classics" fan, one is really for the "modern" fans. However, one really overtakes the other. Can there be an attraction that has a mix? Certainly.
Balance...balance...
I may be named a person who *only likes the old*. This isn't true. I LOVE change. But I love the change that occurs when not only the people the attraction is targeted at is happy, but those who liked the *original* ride are pleased with also.
Several elements come into play: nostalgia, music, character, quality, and spirit. Some new attractions are high on some, low on the other. When we compare characters and attractions, sometimes those who liked the old become depressed and can't admire the new one.
That's how it is with Figment.
The change IS there. I just wanted to gather a consensus and show that some people like the old more, some people like the new more - and put it in there in an entertaining fashion. I will be able to have a greater appreciation for the general public with these polls - and knowing what other elements come into play when you fancy an attraction.
"Come into play?? I'd love to!!!" (Sorry about that. Back to the subject.)
It's great to have one guy benefit. And then another. But maybe...if the world keeps going in a certain direction...natural selection comes into play??? That's the law of nature. But is it the law of Disney??
If you think about it, Disney is a force all in its own, a branch of the right brain...or should I saw the *right side* of the brain. (If you're confused, watch the opening of Cranium Command). Family - togetherness - unity. When everyone is together - a piece of the pie for all no matter what the cost may be - a couple more hundred, a couple more months: it really plays a big role.
Maybe Figment's attitude was highly considered. Maybe it wasn't. It's all in the air.
I admit, there were some parts in the attraction I laughed at - Figment sneaking across the board. But I recently realized - they're not the same. How about this...cut the obnoxious and arrogant scenes, and put some more discovery in there. More delight... If a table of randomly selected Disney fans puts their heads together, not just Imagineers, and not just "new Figment likers" or "old Figment likers" - - a well-rounded character can be produced - possessing exciting and NEW abilities and attitudes, but retaining some of the classic.
This will bring everyone together; protests would probably lessen, and the Walt Disney Company will not only be a place where the FAMILY can be together, but also the PUBLIC. (Not that it totally isn't).
Granted this is an Imagineering process that would take time and money, I'd go for it. Give everyone a piece of the pie...
And magic happens.

I started a thread on this once...about "disney purists" because this attitude really es me off.....the minute you change something, it's not good enough, no matter how good it is, just because walt didn't sign the papers himself, and everyone thinks they know his vision better than the people who run the company with his name on it.
If most of these same people ran the parks, they'd be bankrupt or empty (or both:lol: )

Take in mind, times have changed, and Disney does continue to change with those times.....that old, childish figment that was around when we were kids has grown up a bit...maybe a teenager now. This is the way things are. If he was the way he was in 85, most would label him boring right now.....he has to continue to entertain, and 2002 has a MUCH different version of entertainment.

But don't you agree that, for you, some of the changes are better than others? For example, I never cared for Pooh. So seeing him replacing Toad hurts. Test Track is nice, but World of Motion was better. Who knows how Mission: Space is going to be? I hated 20K, so I'm happy to see they got rid of it.
Know what I mean, Fievel?
By the way, why the lack of Avatar?

I know exactly what you mean. I liked WoM, but I think TT is much more "fun". Depends on who you are and what you're looking for. TT brings the money in the gate, and that's what matters in the long run. People are going there to have fun. The last time I rode WoM it didn't have a line...come to think of it, Epcot was pretty empty in general. It was only after all this disasterous change came about did people start coming back. "the disney decade" as our friend Eisner called it![]()

No point to that...
Close it because we don't want to discuss EXACTLY what you want to discuss and because we debate your idea?

Grizz, don't be so childish. We don't agree with you.. you should have figured as much from your first posts about the "new" Figment.
Gah, sometimes you're so infuriating!! *jumps on Grizz, punches him in the face and bites his arm*
