Once you have been to WDW a half dozen or so time this is all you really need to do. I can not tell you how much more I enjoy the parks when I am not hitting them in commando mode. Relax. Take in a few must do's and then just follow your nose and see what happens.

I totally agree...I used to make myself sick trying to plan the perfect vacation for my family. All I worry about now is the hotel and a few ADRs. It gives us so much more flexibility and we enjoy wandering the world aimlessly, and are able to rediscover our favorite place. We have our fav restaurants, but a few years ago DH was wanting some fried chicken..we asked a CM where we could go (we were at DHS) and she suggested 50's Prime Time. We go to WDW ALL OF THE TIME and had never went there....well now it is a MUST:slurp:. So anyway...relax and be on vacation! All that matters is that you get to spend time with your family in the happiest place on Earth...that's what makes the "perfect" vacation!:sohappy:

I like to check out the picture of the day thread. It will give you more ideas on what to plan and it's just fun to see all the stuff I'm going to see:animwink:

Why would you stop planning? Why, just this morning my employee grabbed for my Disney plans on my desk saying "What is this?" I snatched it away so fast and said "Get your damn hands off of my desk! Those are my Disney plans an you can' look at them" I can't have non-Disney fans looking at my master plan.

I'll never forget the moment that I realized that too much planning is a bad thing. We were walking past the FP booths at E:E and noticed a family having a "discussion". Mom was livid because dad let their son go to the bathroom before the scheduled bathroom break.

I'm not sure I was ever that bad. Wow. We are doing AP this year instead of a ten day hopper because we usually stay for two weeks. I think this has dramatically increased our flexibility. We don't have to have 10 declared park days now. We can go in and out as needed. I feel this AP may be a dangerous addiction. Lol.
The biggest planning we did this year was our ADR list. We basically know what parks we will be in on what days based on EMH.

That way no one will be in the park on the same day as you or try to make the same ADR as you. Lol

yes I admit to being a serial planner. It started out of neccessity a few trips back. My wife is a vegetarian and her father (who was coming on that trip) only eats about 4 different food items. Also my daughter was only 5 at the time so certain attractions and hours had to be set. So trying to please everyone I had to really buckle down and get some concise ADRs and times.

Since then it has become a major part of my vacation experience. Now since I am unable to get back to WDW for several years(twins on the way), I have actually started planning imaginary vacations:lookaroun. So far as to call and see if certain restaurants are available(not actually booking the reservations)and writing itineraries.

Richard(Master Yoda), I really wish I could join you guys at KK.

Don't think or a second that my staff would not undermine me and ruin my plans. What would I do if I went to my dinner at Boma and they told me I had alreay arrived. At which, I look over and see Nathan in my seat. Well, that would not go over well at all.
