Hey everyone! I am the one who originally posted the e-mail to either help me save the attraction, or at least be able to live my dream of at least hosting it once!! Some of your comments about it have actually hurt me pretty badly and especially hurt my dreams:cry:. As has already been said there is a LOT of empty space in MGM, so WHY take out an attraction that still fills up to capacity everyday to put something new there while still leaving the ABC theater, Hunchback theater, and several soundstages completely EMPTY?!?!?!?!?!? That is sort of STUPID don't you think?? I have already applied as a cast member online, but like I said it could only be seaonal because I live 10 HOURS AWAY!! I don't know if that will help me in wanting to host it or not but if anyone thinks it will please help me get this to someone higher up in Disney. Remember these Are MY DREAMS, and I know you all wouldn't like it if someone crushed your dreams!! Just remember that when you are bashing someones future career hopes and dreams!!!! Anyway to those of you who are in support of trying to at least hlep me get there or get Disney to simply re-locate the attraction you can join as a friend of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire? Play It! on myspace and leave me messages and comments!! Go to myspace.com/millionaireplayit or myspace.com click search click display name and type Who Wants To BE A Millionaire? Play It! then add it as your friend. Thanks!

I'm really sorry, but maybe if your dream weren't being torn down in less than 2 months, there could be hope. Don't cling to this dream, because honestly, it isn't going to happen. And I'm not saying this to crush you. I'm saying this to spare you from being crushed. :(

Is that seriously your "dream?" :lookaroun

Is it your dream to be rude to people? Congratulations, your dream has come true. Everyone has a different dream. I have a friend who has wanted to be the host of "Jeopardy" since she was 17. It's no one's place to tell her she can't wish/dream something. This thread truly proves how low people can be sometimes. You're welcome to believe whatever you want about her dream, but by posting it here you're being incredibly insensitive. You can insult the attraction all you want, but when you start insulting her, you've really stepped over a line. Way to treat a new visitor. She may never come back now. Very Disney of you.

I'd like to put this another way as well. Many of us on this website, I'm guessing, have worked or really want to work for the Disney Parks. I am fortunate enough to be both. My dream was to work Jungle Cruise here at Disneyland. Sadly, I didn't get to. But I did get to work some Tomorrowland attractions that are no longer in existence, and for that I will always feel like I was lucky.
She has a dream to work Who Wants to be a Millionaire. Is there something wrong with wanting to work a specific attraction? Obviously, I don't think so. True, the attraction is slated to be closed in two months, but that shouldn't stop her from dreaming. Isn't this supposed to be the Year of a Million Dreams, after all? Maybe some of us will get lucky and Disney will rethink the location at the last minute. I'm sure they won't, but it is nice to dream...

He did not insult her ...The fact of the matter is that, the dream will NOT become a reality .The attraction is already closed/or will be soon and is being destroyed.
So no matter what anyone says or does, nothing can be done.

All he did was ask a question, which he has every right to do..and I do not see how by him asking that question ..he was insensitive or insulting.

He did not treat a new visitor badly and I really truly doubt that she would leave because someone questioned her post.

So..I think that you have stepped over the line by talking to him the way you are just because he has a diiferent take on this then you and her do.

Also....What does it mean to be "Disney"?
Calling someone rude and telling them how low they are for asking a question?
Please...If you dont agree with someone, then fine, argue your point..but lets not call people names for saying what they feel..just like you are doing.

First off I have to say I love MGM Studios, it really is a fun park.
For space, Hunchback has been replaced by LMA. So they can't use that area, with ABC there's not enough space for the new attraction they are talking about. WWTBAM has the most space for a new attraction and I believe they can make a nice E-ticket in there.

Millionare Fan, I know you have a big dream and I accept that. We all have big dreams we want to have. But sometimes there are forces that shatter them.:(

I didn't want AE to go the moment I saw the concept art for SGE, but it went away. Sometimes we have dreams that can't be done, it's sad I know but that's life.

Just enjoy the attraction as much as possible while it's still there, attractions come and go but the memories last forever.

Name a great movie from the 90's.

Excuse me???? As a film major I take great offense to this...

There are tons, I apologize for those who are angered by the length of this email, but to make my point I have to make this long....

Home Alone
Pulp Fiction
Reservoir Dogs
The Shawshank Redemption
Fight Club
Legends of the Fall
Thelma and Louise
Casino
Erin Brochovich
Goodfellas
Edward Scissorhands
Grumpy Old Men
Jerry Maguire
Jurassic Park
Saving Private Ryan
A Few Good Men
Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (a personal fav.... and the box office would agree)
Magnolia
Unforgiven
Billy Madison
Good Will Hunting
Ace Ventura
Forest Gump
L.A. Confidential
Terminatror 2: Judgement Day
Dumb and Dumber
Traffic
The Silence of the Lambs
Boys N the Hood
Billy Madison
Wayne's World
Dances With Wolves
Ghost
Titanic
________ Tracy (not the best, but a personal fav cuz my last name is Tracy)

I'm not saying these are my favorite. But damn, these are just some I came up within a few minutes. In the classes I take, we pretty much skip the 1980s. The 90s has been a corp. dominated threshold of talent.

I apologize for the rant. But when i saw the quote i got furious.

The way I see it, is Disney needs to take a serious look at expanding the park. Not size wise, but attraction wise. By utilizing the space they already have and creating more attractions, it should warrant a longer stay. LONGER STAYS = MORE MONEY.

Where do you plan on putting all these new attractions then if you aren't going to expand the park? Yes, LONGER STAYS generally = MORE MONEY, but TEARING DOWN EXISTING BUILDINGS TO MAKE NEW ATTRACTIONS instead of just USING AN EXISTING BUILDING = SPENDING MORE MONEY. It's a simple business principle.

Also, how great of a ride can they really put in a space the size of WWTBAM? Do you really think they can put an E-ticket ride in there?

I seriously doubt that Midway Mania, or whatever goes in there, will not be an E Ticket, nor do I think that they will try and market it as an E Ticket. It will be C/D Ticket. Millionaire was not an E Ticket.....

Disney will not be able to generate a Everest type hype with a ride in the WWTBAM studios. So why do away with it, just add an attraction in the empty spaces they already have.

Again, I don't think that Disney was ever planning on hyping this as an E Ticket. They just opened LMA last year. We probably won't see another E Ticket to the Studios until sometime 2008-2010.

Plus, an attraction does not have to take up a large footprint to be an E Ticket. Mission:Space anyone?

I'm pretty sure that the studios does not have as many empty buildings lying around with the ability to plop a ride into it as you think.... A lot of people have to realize that they can't really use the ABC theater for day to day shows because of some code compliances. Same thing happened to Hunchback. Plus, Hunchback is NOT empty. Granted, it's no longer a guest area, but the space is being used for SOL storage....

While I'm sad to see Millionaire go, it was time. Plus, the ride will draw a much better crowd over a longer period of time. It's just smart business. That's it.

It's my job to be rude to people... so, yes I am happy. I am a satirical script (film) writer....... maybe once I join the Disney Corp. in Jan you will respect my comments. At that time I will probably have to give up certain types of (mean) writing. Until then, oh well...

By the way....

This idea is the stupidest thing ever.

The kid (guy or girl - i dont know) writes like a fool. They mention several times that they are under 18. They talk about wanting to host the attraction... they sound not only desperate, but pathetic as well.

17?

You're not even going to dent this corporation. I was once like this person..... but today I realize how sad these e-mails are. We all love Disney or we wouldn't be here..... but lets be realistic.

I understand where you are coming from, but lets keep this polite and clean.

The truth is, that while this campaign is too late, it probably wouldn't have ever saved the attraction, even if it was started two years ago.

Millionare Fan, please keep pursuing your dreams (Just make sure that you know the truth about this one)!

Ok, so I feel the hatred. Many of you need some serious counselling:lookaroun . If you don't like MGM so much, then don't go. Universal Studios is waiting for you. I agree with some of you MGM needs a major overhaul. It's a 1/2 day park at best. Matter of fact, myself and a group of 4 others covered the entire park, in about 5 hours. The way I see it, is Disney needs to take a serious look at expanding the park. Not size wise, but attraction wise. By utilizing the space they already have and creating more attractions, it should warrant a longer stay. LONGER STAYS = MORE MONEY. Also, how great of a ride can they really put in a space the size of WWTBAM? Do you really think they can put an E-ticket ride in there? As a normal non-AP vacationer, Disney has got to give me a reason to spend $1500 on a vacation. As much as many people will disagree, the refurbs to POTC, future refurbs to The Haunted Mansion and all the new pixar rides/shows, just don't warrant my $1500. The refurbs are all overdue, and many of the new pixar rides/shows are what I would consider remakes. Disney will not be able to generate a Everest type hype with a ride in the WWTBAM studios. So why do away with it, just add an attraction in the empty spaces they already have.

First off..... Disney can fit a ride of this magnitude into Millionaire because they will be using the other soundstages attached to the building... Therefore the building will be pretty big.... Second... there is a rumor of an e-ticket for the studios and this new ride will not be it... Actually, the footprint being planned is for the area that currently houses Sounds Dangerous... Whether this actually happens or not is another story.... And as far as Disney having to give you a reason to spend 1500 on a vacation, they already do.... I mean, seriously... You won't go to Disney because Millionaire no longer is around?? Ohh brother....

This is your dream? I suggest you look for a new dream. Maybe you can dream of being an attraction host on the new ride once they demolish that waste of space Millionare farse.

I never went to this attraction because I don't like the television show that much. It seems like basing an attraction on a television show can quickly make it dated. Or am I wrong?

Yes, especially a TV show that had already dropped in popularity.

He was not just asking her a simple question. Using the word "seriously" indicates he thought her dream was some king of joke or something. Then, he chose to add that emoticon - :lookaroun - which usually indicates the person thinks something is wrong or strange. If I was wrong about this, I would apologize; in this case, however, I "seriously" believe he was attacking her for her dream, and that is insensitive and unfeeling. Maybe my wording was over the line, too. Perhaps. But when someone starts acting sarcastic about a person's dreams, that is an attack on them and it deserves some kind of response...especially when just about everyone else in this thread is coming down on her, too.

I honestly don't understand why you can not see that Millionaire is no longer a popular attraction hence it is unprofitable. If Millionaire was packed for every show, like you stated, Disney would not replace it. The fact is that for 40 weeks out of the year they are begging people to come in. Most of the people that attend are locals with AP's that are trying to win a cruise. Millionaire will not bring people into MGM however an interactive Spiderman type ride will bring them in by the bus load. Just look what E:E did for AK. MM stands a good chance of doing the same thing for MGM.

If you have been hurt by what strangers have said in a Disney forum you really need to grow a thicker skin or you are in for a very sad existence. The people in this forum are far kinder than people in the real world.

While I am all for having a dream in life don't you think you should shoot a little higher then the host of a Disney attraction?
