Dang, I didn't know all of you felt that way toward an attraction. I just thought I would pass it along. It's not mine, but its a dream of a friend of mine. I still think it funny that everytime I've been that its been pretty packed in the studio. If a ride out lives its stay and doen't attract a "full house" then should they do away with the Carossel of Progress, Star Tours, Honey I shrunk the Kids, etc?

Maybe they could move Millionare to the ABC Theatre if there is enough demand for it. However, I'm in the Toy Story: Play It! (Brilliant name Michael) camp. I've never cared for Millionare and I've wanted a Spider Man type ride in those soundstages forever. It looks like I'll be getting my wish.

To all WWTBAM fans, enjoy the show while you can. See it as much as you can. You'll never regret spending time with your favorite attraction.

CoP - They tried.

Star Tours - They killed its sister, and it has changeable capacity.

HISTA - Hopefully on its way out.

Thank you sir!

I've also wanted a Spider Man-esque attraction in WDW because I will not step foot into Universal until they change their marketing strategy.

Personally, I could care less about their marketing. What I care about is adding a worthwhile attraction to a park with no MAJOR additions since 1999. Unfortunately, the guests at UO seem to prefer an amusement park atmosphere (more games on the streets and pop music in the park) as opposed to the theme park atmosphere the parks should have. IOA's quality has dropped a great deal over the past few years, IMO.

In a word yes.

When attendance at a show or attraction falls below certain level it needs to be retooled or replaced. In regards to the 3 attractions you mentioned COP has been close to the chopping block many times and if current rumors hold true will be gone by the end of the decade. Star Tours has been up for a refurb for a while. HISTK is set to be replaced when the JII ride is redone again if current rumors turn out to be true.

Depending on who you ask many of the rides that have been removed and or replaced (ie Mr Toad, AE, Horizons, WOM) were done so because of low guest counts. The only ride that I can think of that was removed even though attendance was good was 20k. Again depending on who you ask, 20k was shut down because it was a maintenance nightmare to the point of being unprofitable.

Being a classic at WDW will buy an attraction some time but in this world of profit before nostalgia nothing is truly safe from the wrecking ball.

Mr. Toad couldn't be saved...it's far more nostalga than Millionaire!

Millionaire was exciting, but is now outdated. MGM is all about show biz, it's where show biz is!, but, unfortunately, Millionaire is now in syndication, and the show took on some new rules and a new host after Regis left.

Star Wars still brings in the crowds, and HiStA with the new scedule is now almost full at each showing.

CoP is still seasonal and could close at any time, with or without warning. At least with Millionaire, they gave you 3 months to see it one last time. We didn't know with Horizions, Wonders of Life, or Timekeeper. At least Millionaire got some warning.

Besides, MGM is limited on space and needs an e-ticket, Millionaire is a C ticket at best, although it has cool lighting, that's about all it has going in it's favor right now. Besides, you can go to Fantasmic! for a cool Lighting Design!

Why in any sense would anyone want to save that attraction??? I understand people got a big thrill out of it but when I was there, there was hardly anyone there and most of the folks there were locals with AP's who all knew each other and played millionarie all day in order to try and win the cruise.

No thank you let this thing die and lets a real attraction in there not some campy game show wannabe. Let it die and use some grammar and make some sense. This isn't a classic attraction. It never was meant to be. It was there to fill up empty space because they were trying to be cheap and lets face it. That studio was a lot less expensive to build than a decent dark ride. Its time for something to and good bye to that attraction and let it die its death and be gone.

As much as I liked WWTBAM, the attraction is outdated. The primetime version of the show has been off the air for the longest time and no one watches the syndicated version. What I am going to miss most about it though are the special edition versions that they do during the special events at the studios (ESPN The Weekend, Star Wars Weekends, etc.) Those version are infinitely more entertaining than the original one.

Unfortunately, when an attraction is tied to popular culture such as a TV show, it seems destined to a limited life. It was fun though while it lasted.

Just a thought. In Football, it's a penalty to pile on after a tackle.

While I am not a huge fan of the attraction and hardly ever watch the tv show either I certainly hate to see any attraction close at Disney.... kind of the sentimental side of me I guess. However the Studios need a kick in the butt and hopefully this will be the thing to do it. They also need something new for the ABC theatre.... it's has sat empty for too long.

I love WWTBAM, but even I can't support this petition. I hope your friend realizes how completely unrealistic her goal of hosting the show for a day is. Maybe if she was already a Cast Member, and went through proper training, then maybe, MAYBE this would be a possibility. Having a random guest spieling in front of hundreds of people, and representing Disney without actually being legally bound to the company is something I know Disney would never play out. Having a Skipper on the Jungle Cruise letting an 8 year old "drive" the boat for 2 minutes is extremely different from letting an 18 year old taking over an entire show for the day. I'm sorry to be blunt, but honestly, I don't want her to get her hopes up. At All.

I know where she's coming from, though. When I was 11, I knew, KNEW that I was going to be cast as Moaning Myrtle in HP2. I memorized all of her lines from the books, polished up my British accent wonderfully, and mailed a tape recording of me, as well as a picture of me covered in flour (to achieve a ghost-like luster) to JK Rowling. About a week later, I saw a special on TV about how they were going to make 32 year old Shirley Henderson (who had been cast months before) look like a 13 year old ghost. Moaning Myrtle. I bawled for months. I still feel resentful whenever I see her. I don't want your friend to have a "Moaning Myrtle" experience. This post is coming from the bottom of my heart. Honestly. :lookaroun

Even though I never experienced WWTBAM, I am not too eager for it to be kept. A new attraction is definitely needed at MGM.

Just a little side note, don't expect Midway Mania to be such an amazing attraction that Disney wouldn't consider removing it later on in the future. Disney is still reserving the ability to use the soundstages for actual productions again, and that is why Midway Mania will be a modular attraction, so it can be easily updated-or removed.
