Second of all all I am doing here is trying to live out my dreams and to those of you who are in support of me thank you!!

And who exactly would that be? All I see are a bunch of people either gently trying to tell you there is no way this is happening, or people not-so-gently trying to tell you there us no way this is going to happen. And I'm done being gentle, because you AREN'T LISTENING.

And to those of you who aren't I want you to compare bashing my dreams to bashing your own childrens dreams!!

But you just said you were almost 18...you're not a child, and you will not be treated as such

:fork:How Does it Feel?? :mad:You should be ashamed!!

I'm not. Maybe you should be, though, for being naiive enough to expect this to work...

And whoever said that My dream should be a little higher than a Disney cast member I'll just have you know that disney is a top of the line compnay who trains there employees to be top notch!!

Actually, I have to say I agree with you on this one.

And by the way what do you do fr a living?? A lawyer or something??? No thank you!! I would rather spend my day in the happiest place on earth having FUN!!!!

But at the same time, you need to remember that working at Disney is a JOB. It is WORK. It's not a vacation. And if you get a job there, you are most likely to be starting out with Quick Service Food and Beverage or Custodial, not hosting a show that is going to be gone in less than 2 months. Do you think it would be profitable to train someone in an attraction that's going to be demolished so quickly? Not so much...

And I will also be 18 on August 14 5 days before the attraction closes. So age should not be an issue in my dream to host!

Listen to yourself! 5 days?! Maybe if it were 5 months, and you had been working for the company that entire time, there could have been a chance. The Disney Company is very much about Seniority, which you obviously don't have.

Despite what any recruitment brochure says, your life's aspiration should not be to be a front-line base CM.

It's a fine job, but it shouldn't be your life. You either use it as a stepping stone to get to higher jobs, or you supplement income or something with it. Like actors having day jobs. Dreaming artists, designers, what have you, all need day jobs too.

But wanting your whole life to culminate to hosting a theme park game show based on a TV gameshow that's not even popular anymore?

The reality check is warranted.

And even then, if you enjoy something, then enjoy it. Making it work will make is unenjoyable. You work in a field similiar to your heart's desire, but not entirely your desire. I went to the mouse and worked my favorite attraction right of the bat. Now I have to be bribed to go near it.

I have a friend who just got a summer job working at one of the resorts, it was one of his favorites, and I immediately thought "Well, we're probably never staying there again."

Familiarity breeds contempt :P

If this person aspires to be a CM, then we shouldn't make fun of him for it. Remember to follow your dreams... You do not know which road your dreams will take you... For sure won't be Millionaire... But, you never know what other awesome attraction you may work for.

I really don't think anyone is making fun of him for wanting to be a cast member. Being a cast member is a great dream, but wanting to be the host of a show that is closing in less than 7 weeks and deluding yourself into thinking that an attraction is popular to the masses when it clearly is not is a little out there.

Many of us have the dream or riding 20k or Horizons one last time but we are grounded in reality enough to know that it can't happen.

Some dreams don't or can't come true, we move on and get a new dream and make that one come true.
