Help me decide which moderate resort should our family take and why!

I don't know which moderate resort should our family take I was thinking Port Orleans French Quarter! Because our family didn't stay in this hotel!

We have stayed at Port Orleans Riverside and will again in March. I have a family of five, so FQ was out of the question.

But, having said that, I would love to stay at FQ. It is beautiful, the whole resort of Port Orleans is beautiful. In my opinion, it is the nicest of all the moderates and landscaped as a deluxe.

The food court and Boatwright's were wonderful.

The boat to Downtown Disney is super!

The bus service was nice and we did not wait longer than 10 mins ever during Spring Break last year.

Hope you enjoy whatever you settle on.

PS: the big pool is awesome!

I'm sure alot of people on here will pick POFQ but I have to say....Carribean Beach!!

I have always loved that resort, the whole carribean theme, the relaxed feeling overall, and the large size of the resort helps make it feel secluded and not crowded.

With the addition of the pirates and Nemo themed rooms, this resort may become more popular.

I'll vote for the Caribbean. We liked Riverside a lot too, and the ability to sleep 5 in a room was great for some families we traveled with, but CBR's theming appealed to me more.

I don't think you'll be disappointed with any of them.:)

You can not go wrong with either of the Port Orleans resorts. The theming is great and the resort layouts are a million times better than CS or CBR. Water access to DTD is also a big plus. The biggest problem with both CS and CBR is their sheer size. If you are located in a building adjacent to the food court and main pool its no big deal but chances are you will have a 20 minute one way walk to the food court.

Hands down POFQ

Hands down POFQ. My fiance and I have stayed there everytime we go to Disney. It is a lot quieter than Riverside. The food my not be that great, but you can always take a short stroll or better yet boat ride to Riverside. That is what we usaully do. One big bonus is that the busses stop here first before they even go to Riverside. We never once had to stand, which was nice. You can even take the boats to Downtown Disney which is another bonus. We like the resort so much we are staying there for our wedding and honeymoon in March. :sohappy: It just has a nice quite charm about it. We like to stay in building five and get a corner room which has a water and courtyard view. We thought about staying at other resorts, but keep coming back to this one. Hope this helps.:)

I will take the POFQ for my birthday in January 14, 2009!:sohappy::sohappy:
You will not be disappointed. Make the short walk over to Boatwright's at PORS one morning for breakfast. The banana stuffed French toast is incredible. Also the lounge at PORS is home to one of WDW hidden gems, Yee Haw Bob. He is there 4 or 5 nights a week and is a must see. Here is a link to his site which has a schedule, pictures and video's. http://www.yehaabob.com/

Pop. Use the extra 50% on WHATEVER YOU WANT!!!!

In value season for 7 nights, that's over $500 back in your pocket.

-You could have 4-5 real nice meals on that.

-Pack only one shirt for yourself and buy clothes for every other day of your trip from the parks.

-Extend your trip by another 4 days.

-Rent a car if you wern't planning on it.

-Swim in the Seas. Twice.

I've stayed at POR, POFQ, and CS. I would pick POFQ as my first choice again any day. You get everything that both PO resorts offer in a much smaller and more convenient atmosphere.

This question can't be answered without knowing who is traveling with you -- POFQ is where I stay every time, but we have no kids. It is by far the most adult oriented of the moderate resorts, who prefer it to be quieter. If you have kids that need entertaining (i.e. things to do outside of your room) Riverside is a better idea.

We would have to give our nod to Riverside. There hasn't been a trip there we haven't enjoyed. In our books it has everything you are looking for. Some people complain about the walk back to the rooms, but really it can be a great windup to fun filled busy days

We only stay at CSR (Coronado), but POFQ is the only other moderate we would consider if we couldn't get in at the CSR. We don't care for the food court or the themeing at CBR, and we didn't care for the themeing of the POR at all and had the worse meal of any ever at Disney at Boatwright's for dinner. I am sure you will enjoy your stay at POFQ.
