Well, if so, it's WDWMAGIC's fault! I learned about crocs on this very board and now have more pairs than is normal. I wear them just about everywhere and when I'm not in them I wish I were. I'm too old to care how they look. Besides, I figure if teenagers are wearing them at least I don't look like a frumpy old person.

It would suit me fine if they took over the world.

Sometimes I wonder if they are a passing fad and if in 5 years I won't be wearing them anymore, but I really seriously doubt it. They are the perfect shoe in my opinion:
  • Inexpensive
  • Comfortable when standing for a long time
  • Comfortable for walking for a long distance
  • Cool in the summer
  • Warm in the winter
  • Waterproof - wear in the shower, to the pool, at the beach
  • Easy to clean
  • Very easy to pack
  • Lightweight
  • Come in a variety of colors and styles
  • Easy to slip off at airport security (I travel with my job)
  • Durable
The only thing, and to me it is THE only bad thing about them is that they are not considered to be professional. They are too casual for business meetings. If not for that, I would only own crocs.

I hated the look of them. I will admit I want to try a pair from all the good things I have heard. I even tried them on at the local Hallmark... any suggesions on what pair to try? One size seems a bit small (I heard the sides are not to touch foot? Correct?) And the next seems a lot too big?

I want a pair so bad but I cant find any in my size (15).Does anyone know if they make special orders for people with big feet?
I usually wear size 13 wide in most shoes. I have an unusually wide toe span. I bought the size XL=Mens 10- 11 and they are perfect (with socks even [yes I know "bad fashion" ]). Because they are "ugly" the toe area is larger, thus allowing me to get a better fit. If you can find some place that has XXL, try them on.

I admit it. I'm a Crocs convert. The first time I saw them I thought NEVER in a Million years would I be caught dead in them. Well, guess what a couple years later, and I'm hooked. I've got 2 pairs of the Caymans (clog type) and 2 pairs of Crocs flip flops. My husband has a pair of the ones that look like the Adidas or Nike type sandal, my oldest son had the Univ. of FL ones(where me and DH went to school), my oldest daughter has 2 pair, my younger son has Mickey ones and even my 1YO daughter has a pair(they are the ONLY shoes that she will keep on!) They are great!

While I agree they are comfortable more so than any other sandal out there (I have black open face croc) I disagree with the inexpensive aspect. 30-40 dollars for a sandal is not "inexpensive."

The waterproof is good, however it can be a pain, when they do get wet your feet tend to slide inside quite bad which can be troublesome. More so in these than other sandals.

I also wouldn't wear them in the winter where I live, it gets cold here and they are far from insulated.

Other than that they are extremely comfortable as I said and besides the covered ones that look like whiffle balls, are cool and comfy.

That's a crock!

*puts on bi-focals*

...i see what you did there.

I am aware of the sudden burst of croc-wearage as i both walk around the park and glance at the outdoor merchandise carts selling them thirty-fold to whole families at a time.

Will i buy me a pair? Mmmmnaaaah. But, if they're as comfortable as people preach for them to be, it's no wonder as to why people would purchase pairs to go around in the park.

I just can't do the croc thing....just too ugly. I know they are supposedly wonderful for the feet but, their ugliness surpasses even that of the Berkenstock (which I own and love, super comfy)! My nieces live in them and I just cringe at the sight!

DH said that Crocs were so ugly that he'd NEVER wear them!:ROFLOL: Well, he has 2 pair now! One Disney pair and one other pair....AND he gravitates to them when we are out shopping!

Granted, they are ugly, but so far, we love them!!!!

What's wrong with men wearing crocs? Are crocs supposed to look feminine? How can something so ugly be so feminine? I own and regularly use two pair, by the way.

I have a pair of the Cleo style that I bought for my trip to Las Vegas a few weeks ago. Now I wear them nearly every day! (Unfortunately I can't convince the managers that sandals are appropriate work attire...)

While wearing Crocs I have no pain from plantar faciitis and none of the usual pain in my legs from being on my feet all day. I love these shoes so much that I'm taking my mom (who is diabetic) out Croc shopping this week!:)

But are they Disney Crocs?
As for "ugly"? What about "the mullet"? And yet, there are still some to be found in the world. Crocs are no more "ugly" as Berkenstocks, and probably more comfortable (I never wore Berks).

When we went to WDW last May, we were talking to a CM on the Majarajah Jungle Trek. The conversation turned to our shoes (Crocs) and she said that the CMs were not allowed to wear them "on stage". It's kind of funny that the CMs can't wear the items being sold in every store at WDW:lol: .

Check this out at their website, they should feel "too big", never snug...

Oh another thing, get real Crocs, not the knock off you can find everywhere; there is a very big difference.

Have you tried them on or just looked at the sizes? If you go to their site there is a section under sizing that you can print out (its a pdf file) and see what size would fit. They don't really seem to follow normal sizes (IMHO).

I've never read anything so stupid in my life :

From Dumb Article said:
Granted, they're super-comfortable, but Crocs, I don't know, cheapen every outfit.

Yeah, I go to WDW to impress people with my fashion sense...

The reason Crocs are now everywhere at WDW is because Disney very smartly hooked up with a company that many of it's patrons are fans of. It was a perfect marraige.

I was so happy when I saw Crocs on the feet of such a large percentage of guests on my last trip. They really are taking off. I had never seen some of the colors/styles before, and will be picking up some new pairs based on that. And on my next trip to Disney, I am totally getting a pair of the black/red ones.

I think it's hilarious and sad at the same time that some people can't get past their style, even those that admit they are the most comfortable shoe invented for most people. Sure, I get looks in my Crocs from people occasionally, and I just shake my head and laugh back at them.

Does this woman who thinks Crocs are unsightly wear Manolo Blahniks to theme parks? If she doesn't, she has no room to talk, and if she does...well, then she's the silly one, LOL.

You can say that again...I got yelled at by someone who bought a pair of "crocs" and got blisters on their feet. "Oh, but you said they were so good!" I was told.

Then I saw that they weren't crocs, but those $6.88 imitations. "But they were so much cheaper, what's the difference?" the person asked me. "Blisters," was my response.

Buying those is the silliest thing EVER, EVER. Very few people buy Crocs for the look, but when you buy the imitation ones that's exactly all you are doing. You are paying for the "look". It's hard to get some people to wrap their head around the fact that even if they look similar the material they are made out of is not.

I'm never one to shy away from off-brands or generic items, if they truly are the same (I can't tell the difference between Rite-Aid's brand of cold medicine vs. the one that costs 3 times more), but when it comes to Crocs I'm a brand-. Bar none.

I actually think they're kinda cute. But I do not claim to have any fashion sense whatsoever.

You have now convinced me to buy Disny ones for my daughters for our next trip. I have not seen them at the Disney store - where can I find them before we go?
