I'm so sorry. I have had that happen and it is no fun. I hope your not in pain. The good part is the dentist will be able to at least clean it up and get you ready for your adventure. I hope you feel better soon! :)

If your dentist is like mine, he will squeeze you in and you'll be set to go in plenty of time. I had to get a crown in June, four days before our trip to the beach. It all worked out.

Ouch! Hope you don't have to sit in pain all weekend! I'll keep my fingers crossed that your dentist can work some magic and get you fixed up before your trip. Enjoy Disney!

I had the misfortune to trip while running for a plane (on the way, thank God) and fell flat on my face, breaking my upper front teeth. My dentist was able to make temporary teeth (my husband says he bond-oed my front teeth) until my permanent crowns were ready. I just had to be very careful flossing, and no waterpik whatsoever.

I was able to call him at home on Sunday (does your dentist have an emergency number?) so he was able to come in early on Monday and at least make me presentable.

you are alive and healthy. you can afford to pay the dentist (even if it hurts- both figuratively and literally), you have time to do it before WDW, you are about to GO to WDW (how many people can say that?), you can afford a trip to WDW, you are about to spend some time with family or friends (whichever you are going with), and this too shall pass............now, don't you feel better?

I did about the same thing a year ago. I went to the dentist the night before we left. Everything worked out great. I was having so much fun I don't think I ever gave my tooth a thought the whole trip.

Sorry you're having to go through this. A few years ago I broke my elbow 5 days before a trip. There's so much to do the last few days so i can definitely empathize. Hope you're feeling a little better. Sending you lots of pixie dust.

On the bright side - the tooth could have broken while you were THERE so at least it's taken care of before you go!

Last year my mom broke her arm the night before we left and while we were there my husband got a tooth infection from a root canal he had the week before we left. We have all vowed to "live in a bubble" the week before the trip this year.

Hope you got everything fixed OK!! :)

Never let anything ruin your trip, your tooth will be fixed in no time, and you will be in Disney in no time! Get organized and be excited you're going to the happiest place on earth!

I hope you are feeling better. I started my vacation, actually only a few hours before we left, with a trip to the dentist. I didn't know if that was brilliant or stupid of me, so I know what you are saying. I do hope you are doing better. Just think, you are going to DISNEYWORLD!!!

Here's to hoping that your tooth is all fixed by now and you are up to the packing stage. Enjoy your trip, sans candy:)
On a side note, DH did this in Jan '10 the night that we arrived in Orlando. So an emergency Saturday night root canal in Orlando and temporary filling - the wallet was screaming in pain. The upside, I called WDW even though we had not checked in yet and they were able to get us connected to help within 20 minutes.

I'm just glad this wasn't the day before your trip! Thank goodness that the dentist can fit you in before your trip. I hope you aren't in too much pain.

Just a suggestion - see if they can give you an antibiotic prescription just in case you have a reaction to the root canal. I know it's not common, but my husband had a root canal the week before going to disney and he developed an infection while we were there. It was extremely painful for him our last three days until we got home and the dentist prescribed an antibiotic to clear the infection. He was going through some weird health problems (he had a stomach infection a few months earlier and his immune system was shot) so it was a different situation, but it doesn't hurt to have a prescription in your back pocket, just in case.
