Automated monorails - from the people who brought you MM+ and 3 monorail crashes in 6 1/2 yearsand this is why we test
and this is why no one sits in the front anymore
and last but not least...
and this is another reason why these ancient monorails need to be replaced instead of just trying to band-aid all the time
While I agree things shouldn't be over sensationalized, I would describe this as a crash. The damage does look fairly significant, more so than other work tractor crashes I've seen. If there was a driver in that cab which I suspect there should have been then that was a somewhat close call.
Yeah I can agree with that. Of course lets not forget just because there's not guests on board doesn't mean there aren't people on board."Crash while testing" would be accurate and fair. Or "Accident while testing". But to simply call it a crash or an accident implies normal operations and guests on board when thats pretty far from the case.

This appears to be after they have been pulled apart. The bars on the tow tractor appear to have come in contact with the roof. So looks like about 3-4 feet of the cab was pushed in.
d'oh. Looks pretty bad. I wonder how far from the tractor it was intended to come to a halt? With there being no public on the monorail, will they have to file any details with the feds on this?
Yeah I think the pendulum has swung to two different extremes over the course of the past hour. Definitely not too serious, but at the same time I'm sure my insurance company would consider this to be pretty serious if I had this much damage to my car. For Disney to say that there wasn't an accident and a work tractor just "made contact" with a monorail is probably the biggest inaccuracy I've heard throughout the course of this.Fair enough. I'm just suggesting that certain Twidiots fanned the flames of hysteria.
This will surely go down as the worst nose-breaking incident on Disney property since @Jimmy Thick ."Another look at monorail - front end of nose is smashed in apparent accident near TTC today."

now the 65000.00 question ... did the monorial not recognize the tug as an obsticle, or was this a push-bar break while towing
