Em had her heart set on Dorinda in Cheetah Girls...dressed in the sari that she wears at the end of "One World". :brick: I could not buy a purple sari for love nor money, so in the end I bit the bullet and went to the fabric store on Saturday. You have to understand that I am the least crafty person on the planet but Em for some reason has faith in me.
So, here is where it gets good. This is proof (to me) that God is always with us, in things great and small. We walk in to the store and there is a rack of fabric with a sign that says "Sari Fabric - 50% off". Em immediately finds a gorgeous purple fabric. Then we get in the cutting line and I'm musing out loud about how much to buy and the lady in front of me asks me what I'm making. So I tell her I'm going to attempt a sari. At which point she unfurls the cloth, shows me how to pleat it and drape it, tells me how much I'll need. She's of Indian/Asian descent and taught dressmaking for 19 years!!!! Plus she gave me her phone number and e-mail dress in case I have any questions. I took the whole thing as a sign that I can actually pul this thing off.

You could be Oscar the Grouch?
Just get into a trash can and you're all set.
You might have to cheer up a bit and just overall have a better attitude though if you want to be fit for the part...
just trying to be helpful!
Have a baby! They're all the rage these days.
:animwink:
That was Adam's suggestion too. Well, besides teaching me how to play Xbox :hammer:
I tried to play Rock Band for the first time this weekend...it was bad. I was good (score wise, not pitch wise) at the singing, the guitar was a travesty, and the drums were better but still pretty bad.
A quick good morning!
Thanks so much for the anniversary wishes!
35 years...yikes!

Later.
Morning!
Thanks everyone for checking on me. I hate that I worried everyone. I'll know not to be so vague in facebook statuses next time.
So, yeah... a deer attacked us pretty much. We were driving to my parents' house from catering (our second job) at about 8:30 pm or so to pick up our dog. Derek was driving my car. We were talking and I was facing him, about 100 yards from where we turn into my parents' little neighborhood. He had slowed down for the turn and all of a sudden I see a flash of tan outside his side window. Then THUD. The deer hits the driver's-side door and window.
You guys, God was totally looking out for us. Derek does not usually keep calm in situations like this, but something allowed him to stay straight in our lane on the road. If he would have swerved three feet to the right, we would have flipped over into the very steep, rather deep ditch just along the edge of the road. Not to mention the window. I mean, looking at the damage of my car, I can't believe the deer didn't go through that side window. But if it would have... I don't even want to think what would have happened to Derek. The window had some cracks in it, but it didn't even shatter that night! It was remarkable.
Sunday morning we got to see the damage in the daylight. The door's completely busted, the handle won't budge, the mirror is gone. And the window must have been at the brink of breaking that night because that next morning it was shattered and on the groud. The cold air must have caused the final blow.
I was pretty shaken up. Plus... in total girl-fashion, I felt bad for the deer. It was dark, but we did try to look for it. Didn't find it. But with the impact it made...
Anyways... sorry again to worry people. We're okay. DH called insurance and we'll work everything out. I'll just be without a car for a while.
I love you guys and am so blessed to have such amazing, caring friends!
Here in Pennsy you have to hit at least one in your lifetime or they revoke your license. True story.
All joking aside, deer accidents can be serious and sometimes fatal. So I am glad everything is okay.
