I have a problem with Mission:Space. For some reason, I continually call it Mission to Mars. It drives my DD crazy - she always corrects me, but the next time I open my mouth, Mission to Mars comes out! Must be a senior moment kind of thing!

peter pan - you can fly you can fly
epcot - epcot kingdom
tower of terror - go down

its cute the first 200 times he says it lol. he wont stop til we go on it and then he starts repeating another ride til we ride it.

my brother is also autistic, and he calls tower of terror "drop down" :)

I call Gran Fiesta Tour "El Rio del Donald"

So true!

Primeval Whirl --> Primeval Hurl

For obvious reasons... :hurl:

Me, too!

My girls (6 and 3 at the time) called the Tea Cups at MK the "booty cups" when we first started going because I guess my wife told them "get your booty in the cup" and it has stuck ever since! The only bad thing for a while was when people would ask them what was your favorite ride during your trip? .......THE BOOTY CUPS! :lookaroun Then we had to explain.

You have forever changed the name of this ride for me! :ROFLOL:

I pretty much keep to the names of the rides - but I don't have kids so there's no cute story here...but I do still call Indy the Indy Cars. And I have issues remembering all the components to Lights, Motor, Action and it normally comes out Lights, Action, Motors...? At which time I realize I sound ignorant, again. Or is it Lights, Motor....?

More often than not, I refer to Winnie the Pooh as "Winsty the Pooh". Have done it for what seems like forever and don't have a clue why!

I say Runaway Train.... now my 5 year old calls it that too....

my daughter who was 4 at the time suddenly announced while walking through the contemporary car park that she wanted to go on the knobulator once we had stopped laughing, we questioned what she meant, frustrated she pointed up to the monorail heading towards the magic kingdom she is now nearly 8 and we still call it that

And thus, I have a name for the Mono-rail. Now if you don't mind I have to ride the KNOBULATOR! to EPCOT.

I hate when I hear people call Expedition Everest, "Mount Everest"!
Get it right!! So annoying. I guess a real pet peeve of mine.
:ROFLOL:My parents are guilty of that. On our last trip, I swear I had to correct them like 10 times.

HA!

HAHA!

Being from a spanish-speaking country, my family, mostly the elders, not only mispronounce and mangle the language but like to switch out attraction names like it's some sort of jumble! Some choice favorites:

-It's a Small World is "Smallswurld"
-Jungle Cruise is "River Jungle" or "Jungle Boats"
- The Enchanted Tiki Room is "Tiki's Rooms"

In epcot:

-SSE is "La bola" ("The Ball" in spanish)
-Car Test
-"That one ride with the dinosaurs".... always takes them awhile to figure it out.
-Maelstrom becomes a random jumble. I've heard "Malnstrong" "Mallstrum" and "Malenstrmmmm"
-Don't think because we know spanish they'll remember the ride in Mexico either... because they've never remembered that name. It's always been "The mexico ride" or "The boat that goes past the restaurant... that's a good restaurant. Do they have mariachis? OH I love mariachis!" (fun fact: elderly latino women adore mariachis... doesn't matter what particular country outside of mexico they come from)

My favorite though is to watch them try to decipher "It's Tough to be a Bug"... they switch it around more than a scrabble board on a faulty washing machine. "Tough Bugs "Small Bugs" It's Bug Toughs" et cetera

...oh, and the best: Did you know that Dinoland in AK is ACTUALLY called "Jurassic Park"? And that it houses THE Jurrasic Park ride?

And before you ask: They've also confused it with Universe of Energy. My grandmother once almost went into dinosaur, back problems and all, expecting a gentle ride and a movie.

But I've gotta give them some credit. They haven't been flubbing the names lately. Not as bad as before. Then again, I've been correcting them constantly for like 5 years, so...

I've always called SSE "the globe" and TTA the "peoplemover" (even though they had already changed the name by the first time I ever rode it!)
Buzz Lightyear SRS is always shortened to Buzz;
Space, Splash, and Big Tunder are just that
Pirates
Swiss Family Tree House = "Are you serious?"
Goofy's Barnstormer is known as the fast chicken ride (from my 3 yr old little brother)
I don't even know the real name for the stinky cars on the tracks that should be removed from the park, but I've always called it Autopia
El Rio del Tiempo (or whatever it is now) is the Mexican boat ride
Maelstrom is the Troll boat

I was going to say that's all I can think of for now, but that was a lot! Sorry!
