Have you ever been evacuated off of a Disney ride?

Have you ever been instructed to exit a Disney ride vehicle at a place other than the normal area?

A couple years ago I got stuck on Spaceship Earth for about 30 minutes before they finally got us off and we had to walk through the last about quarter of the ride. The worst part was the dialogue on the ride vehicle kept playing while we were stuck! It was interesting but definitely got a bit annoying after a while.

I recall being stuck for a little while on Pirates. It was towards the end but constantly hearing Jack Sparrow sing A Pirate's Life for Me almost made me think I was on Small World. I got stuck on Space Ranger Spin but it was a good thing considering I got 999,999 out of it. (Sadly do not know the photo to prove it.) Other than that, I recall one trip where my family rode Ellen's Energy Adventure but it broke down and were evacuated before the dinosaur animatronic scene. Needless to say, when I rode it in its entirety for the first time last March, it was a ride I would never ride again and if forced to ride again, I would actually want to be evacuated off of!

I've been evacuated on many occasions. Never off Test Track, though! I've sat in the car for long periods of time, but never evacuated.

The best ride breakdown I ever had was on Soarin. It stopped during the last scene on Main Street. We sat for about five minutes and then they re-ran it for us. Like a BOGO. :D

Also loved being stuck in the middle of the dining room part of HM. :)

We have been evacuated off Toy Story Mania two different times. It was kinda cool because when you whiz through on the ride so fast, you don't get to see a lot of the details inside the ride. But as you're walking through the ride being evacuated we got to see a ton of details. I took a lot of pictures as we were being escorted out. They gave us Fast Passes to use later anywhere. Not a bad experience.

But the worst was we got stuck in It's A Small World for 40 minutes without moving but that didn't stop the song from playing. Now normally, I like the ride and the song, but not for 40 minutes without stopping. Try to get that out of your head.

Best evacuation was Space Mountain...at the top...we were the last to evacuate ... down some stairs and then an elevator ride...fastpasses when we got to the exit...

Exact same thing for me. I was upset I didn't have our good camera with and only had my very bad cell phone to take shots with. It did kind of ruin the ride for me when we went back later that evening with those free FP's.

I've only been evacuated from a Disney attraction twice; POTC, and Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin.

On POTC we stopped in the burning city scene right in front of the trio of singing pirates for about 20 minutes. That donkey was so irratating! After 20 minutes or so, our boat started moving backwards towards an emergency exit and all of the service lights went on.

We evacuated and we went backstage where they were prepping the parade floats; we also got free Fastpasses to any ride we wanted. It was a little weird, but it was memorable!

On Roger Rabbit at Disneyland, we got stuck at the part when Roger was getting electrocuted. When we got stuck, the lights immediately went on. We waited about 15 minutes until a cast member accompanied us to the exit. It was cool walking through Toontown and the rest of the ride. We waited about an hour for the ride to open again, and they gave us three reentry passes for our patience.

Evac-ed off POTC last trip after waiting 45 minutes. Our boat was just about to enter the un-load area when it stopped. A guy came out in waders and was pulling boats back and letting people walk through the final scene to exit - somewhere - we didn't get to do that though. I was pretty disappointed when they eventually had us climb forward over the boat seats and exit the boats. This happened on a Saturday and we got fastpasses for any ride in MK that were good through Thursday. It was November and ride lines were only about 20 minutes so when Thursday rolled around and we hadn't used them I gave them to a family that was on their way to the Christmas party. We were staying at the Wilderness Lodge and on our way to the Hoop dee Doo so didn't need them. They were stunned - it was great!

I've been stuck on rides at Disney, but never evacuated. I think the longest I've probably been stuck was maybe 15-20 minutes.

Universal is a different story. I've been evacuated off of Cat in the Hat, Mummy, & JP River Adventure. JP River Adventure incident was the worst. Stuck at the top, right in front of the T-Rex before the drop. Took them 45 minutes to finally get us off the boat, then a walk down six flights of stairs to a back exit. They gave us a fast pass good at anything else in the park that day, but we were staying at Royal Pacific & didn't need them. We ended up giving the passes to another couple as we were leaving.

I've been on Carousel of Progress when it broke and stuck watching the same scene multiple times (like 4 I think?) before they finally let us exit.

But for true evac, I've been evacuated off of the PeopleMover. We stopped right below the astronauts right where Space Mountain trains go up the incline on either side of you. And there we sat for like half an hour. Did you know the astronauts move from the vibrations of the Space Mountain trains going by? Neither did I until we had plenty of time to watch it. About halfway through the wait time, they turned on the emergency side lights. It was hard to hear announcements where we were but eventually someone came and manually opened the doors to each car and led us single file out and along the track to a set of stairs right by the back trail between Tomorrowland and then Toon Town. The CM told us "do NOT step on the plastic center" several times but someone dumb blond in front of us did just that and cracked it.

It was definitely a unique experience!

My buddy and I got evacuated off the TTA in February and walked off the ride down a set of stairs by the Tomorrowland Speedway. To be honest it was pretty cool as it was nighttime (and we got a MK fastpass to use for the rest of our trip).

Other than that, no other full breakdowns just a few minor delays.

That's right!! I forgot about him saying "don't step in the middle".

No, I have never been on a ride that has broken down while I was on it. I did have PoTC at WDW break down just before I was about to board, but in 15 minutes it was running again and I rode it without further incident. I also was about 3/4's of the way into the queue at Indiana Jones in Disneyland when the ride was evacuated (you know that queue that starts in Anaheim and winds it's way to the ride that I believe is located in Mexico), but I never got to the ride itself. About 2 hours later it was up and running again.

This experience comes from 43 trips to WDW since 1983 and 1 trip to Disneyland in 2005. So I have experienced one problem in 43 trips to WDW (1.02%) vs. one problem in 1 trip to Disneyland (100%).

Disclaimer: I realize that those percentage don't really mean anything at all, but, it makes for a more dramatic statement to those that aren't paying attention.:joyfull:

I have been on many where I was stuck for a while and then it restarted.

However, the only one I was ever evaced from is ...... Ellen's Energy Adventure.

Of all the things to get an "inside view" of, it was this.

We were about 5 minutes into the ride, just after the first movie ends and the cars move into the next room when everything shut down. We sat there for five minutes, and then we were walked out the way we came in. Not terribly exciting at all. (And no FastPasses either)

I have! No horror stories or anything, but was stuck on Splash and had to be evacutated from the ride. It was pretty cool getting to walk down the stairs and see the back restricted areas of splash. Also got stuck on Buzz and had to be walked out of that ride too.... Both times we were given fastpasses for the trouble. Those are the only two major ones. Been stuck on a few other rides too, but eventually they began to move again after a slight interruption. One of the scariest things was being stuck on the monorail over seven seas lagoon in a torrential rainstorm. The thing was shaking from side to side like crazy, I swore we were falling off that track into to the water below. Thankfully after about an hour and quite a few prayers we were moving again! I could not get off fast enough! LOL!

I was evacuated off POTC in August, we were right before the drop so we didn't get to walk through much of the ride. But our boat got stuck and needed to be moved back so we could get off, and there were CMs in the water pushing us, that was interesting lol.

I've been evacuated from EE just before the station you disembark from we were only stuck for 5 minutes or so and got fastpasses to ride again despite experiencing the whole ride!

Yup. Last year we were on Spaceship Earth and it stopped twice for a minute before it stopped for good the third time. We got evacuted through the back stairwells walking all the way down the inside if SSE. It was pretty cool.

I've been the one doing the evacuating...During my DCP in 2007 I was station on It's A Small World when the ride went 101. We were forced to do an evact. Disney is great about spending time training CM's for this. I was thrown into some yellow waiters and hopped in the water. I had to hold the boats still whole guests exited off in the Asia scene. Pretty cool to be on the opposite end of things.

TSMM broke down and we were escorted out of the ride.
Transit authority we were stuck on for the longest time and eventually they came and got us. We had to walk quite a ways to get to a staircase backstage.
On Soarin we were on the highest row and after the show was over it wouldn't come back down. It was well over 30 minutes until we came down.

We broke down on the Haunted Mansion by the coffin. Luckily we didn't get stopped when your backwards. That would not have been comfortable for too long.
