Have you ever been evacuated off of a Disney ride?

Have you ever been instructed to exit a Disney ride vehicle at a place other than the normal area?

Test Track during its grand reopening. Stuck at the Seatbelt check for about 15 minutes then off down the stairs and a handful of fastpasses.

I have been on a couple rides that broke down but they always got them back up and going without an evacuation. THe scareist thing when i was about 9 was we got stuck on the monerail. It kept saying the doors will momentarily open but we were over land not in a station.. I was pretty freaked out and it was about a 30 min stop but they didn't evacuate us.

Got evacuated from Universe of Energy after some kid decided he wanted no part of the attraction and got up just as the show was beginning in the first room.

While riding Space Mountain in DL, the ride vehicle came to a sudden stop about 1/3 of the way through. The lights came on and we sat for about 10 minutes before we were evacuated. It was kinda cool to see the track. I know everyone in our vehicle was snapping pictures. A CM came to guide us out of the building along the grate beside the track. We were given a couple FP's for the same ride.

Also got stuck on Haunted Mansion, right next to the Gravedigger, for about 20 minutes. My niece was getting a little skeeved due to the constant whining of that poor, skinny dog.

I have been evacuated from two rides over my life span at visiting WDW. My first experienced was with BTM at the final lift hill and I really enjoyed seeing the inner side of the mountain as we walked through the ride. The other one was a disappointment for me as I was stuck on Test Track V1 right at the end of the ride so I didn't have to walk to far... I never got the chance to break down inside of the ride over the 200 of times I rode it. This other experienced was not a evacuation but was the most annoying place to be stopped at in a attraction and that was the door knocking scene in the Haunted Mansion... I remember sitting there in my Doom Buggy for over 20 minutes with only the knocking sound playing and I think my ears never fully recovered that day either from that.

A few months ago at Hollywood Studios, I rode Great Movie Ride and somehow we were stuck in the Wizard of Oz scene. We were all taken off the tram and walked through the last room with the Movies Over the Years video and exited to the doors on the right that went out. Nothing much :p

During our most recent visit, we got stuck on Carousel Of Progress. The attraction progressed smoothly through the final scene but once it ended, the theater didn't rotate. We watched the final scene three times, and got quite a laugh out of the whole situation. It was especially funny because a lot of my family that hadn't been there in a very long time were with us and everyone was looking forward to COP. Eventually we were evacuated out the rear exit door. That was three weeks ago and I think "There's A Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow" is still stuck in all our heads.

the first time i ever rode Dinosaur (Countdown to Extinction back then) we were evacuated around the pterodactyl scene. that place is way different with the lights on. There are a lot of potted plants and black tarp. some fake foliage was glued around. i was even surprised to see some unlit (static) raptor heads in the bushes. i found out later that those were put out/lit when one of the dinosaurs in that area was down for maintenance. and i hadn't realized just how high off the ground the vehicles were until i was standing next to one.

years later i got to walk the entire track with the lights on and was... underwhelmed, but also fascinated. some of those dinosaurs are really torn up. a lot of them were missing limbs. i got my picture taken standing on the track in front of the photo op carnotaurus. i still love that picture :)

and i've never been evacced off of ToT myself, but i have done plenty of evacuations there. it was kind of nervewracking, taking a group of people off of the RV in the 5th Dimension. close to the starfield doors anyway. luckily i never had to participate in a top of shaft evacuation.

i have to admit, i have always wanted a breakdown on IJA just so i could see everything clearly. that's never happened though. and i've experienced several evacs at Universal, but i suppose that is a tale for a different thread.

edit: forgot to mention this one. i was a new JC CM, but we were given emergency exit door training at PotC in case they went down and needed additional help. i never got called over for that, but to this very day i remember where every door is. the one behind the ship shattered the "on the water" illusion for me forever XD

I have been evaced from splash mountain and test track.

Splash was actually kinda weird, seeing the aa's moving with no soundtrack, smelly water and slime, then we got walked partially backstage where we saw old boats, trash and ash trays full.... It was interesting seeing "backstage".

When evaced from test track the CM was incredibly careful with us almost as if he were talking us off a ledge.
I exited the vehicle on the right side not the left and he was incredibly panicky about that... Not rude just really really concerned... I always wondered why.....?

Not a ride, but for a film in a theme park. I was at One Man's dream when a power outage happen and the film stopped and was told to leave the attraction. Got no fast passes at all.

It was nothing compare to the time the engine on a boat died while traveling from Downtown Disney to Port Orleans French quarter. Thankfully the engine died at dock another ferry was able to pick up the guests including myself to Port Orleans French Quarter and Port Orleans Riverside.

Ha! I was going to post the same exact thing. Happened to us earlier this year.

I've never been evacuated unless you count queues. Test Track twice and Pirates.

Best evacuation was Space Mountain...at the top...we were the last to evacuate ... down some stairs and then an elevator ride...fastpasses when we got to the exit...
Please elaborate...I'm terrified of heights and am curious, how high, were these ladders or stairs?

We got stuck on the monorail between MK and the CR for over an hour. It started raining was thundering and lighting. It was dark and hot (middle of June), lighting had struck the track. so we are sitting in the air while a thunderstorm is going on around us I am thinking how are they going to get us off of here they have no power. I was not going to climb off this at 50 ft in the air in the middle of a thunderstorm, however they were not coming to get us either. So we sat, and sat. Luck for us the monorail was not crowded, in our car we had DH, DS and DD and on dad and a 2 year old. We did our best to entertain the 2 yr old but after 30 min he started to cry. That was the longest 1 1/2 hours at Disney for us. They finally got power and we could move again 45 seconds and we were at the CR.

I didn't really think about the stairs. I was so excited to be in Space Mountain and having to be evacuated. I found it a fun event to our vacation...another WDW experience. The CMs told us that we were the last to evacuate, because we were at the top, just before the first drop to really begin the ride.

Wife and I were evacuated off Expedition Everest in January. We were so disappointed as this was our first time on EE, and we had by chance ended up in the first car! But, we made the best of it with some cool pictures. Our train was on the first climb. It was not long after that CM's came and helped us down. We were walked along the track back to the station. We were given Fast Passes for the inconvenience. I've added a pic of the group walking back... hope it works in this post!

Back when it was breaking down a lot, I sat on the monorail for 45-60 minutes once. No crying child, but it did get every warm in there. It was over a year before I'd get on one again.

I am so sorry you had to go through that.
