Tokyo had it last year

I was at Tokyo Disney Resort last year in mid November and they had both the Haunted Mansion Nighmare Before Christmas and the Its a Small World Overlay.

Does anyone know if the new and improved IASW will get the holiday overlay at WDW?

So far its been Disneyland only, i think Tokyo is getting it this year though. It would be closed down NOW for the overlay so a refurb in November wouldn't make any sense.
Tokyo had it last year 120 minute waits

Crowds in Tokyo are Amazing, in a good way.

The crowds in Tokyo are far better behaved than anywhere I have experienced. They wait patiently for their turn, I never saw anyone breaking into line (even 120 minute lines), they do not mark things or stick gum on things, the small children are taught manners and respect. I had many polite and great conversations with Japanese teenagers! When they are waiting for and watching parades and/or shows they all sit down and try very hard to be considerate and not block other people's view. Then as if that was not amazing enough, at the end of the parades/shows they pick up all of their trash and throw it away and tidy up the area they were just in. We all know that when you compare the cleanliness of WDW to say Universal you come away thinking what a pigpen Universal is, to be completely honest comparing DisneySeas and Tokyo Disneyland to WDW has much the same effect. I am not saying the people at WDW are not doing a great job, they are and they have limited to to restore what the guests put asunder. Having guests who care about and respect the property I am sure makes their job much easier in Japan.

Cleaning? At the Haunted Mansion? Don't you mean, dirtying? ;)

I'd love to see the spit and other goop projected by, I have to guess, youths, cleaned up throughout the ride. It's just disgusting that some people think that's funny.

I guess i'm more nieve than i thought... I would never think anyone could do that...

(look 999 posts, how appropriate for this thread:) )

The closing is for 10 days ... thats 240 hours . Put enough people in there doing work and alot could be accomplished !!

Here's to hoping for repaired audio and a floating Leota. :sohappy:

Awww:(

I was hoping for the floating Leota Ball and those types of things to be put in. With the new technology, much more is possible.

NOOOOooo.... Disney can't do stuff like that to its classic attractions. Don't even think about plussing anything that already there. People are frightened of change, and you can't update anything classic. Look what they did to Figment, how are they add advanced AA's in Stitch. Disney must have a special department called the "Ruining my childhood fantasies" department. Maybe I will start up a website trying to "save" the various attractions I heard on the internet are going to be changed... Even though i have no hard proof they are going to. If Disney adds new things to any of their attractions, they will never see my money again...

In short, change is bad... The magic isn't there anymore, and I have there pictures of paint chips taken with an electron microscope to prove that. And WDW shouldn't be able to change any of its attractions without asking me first.

/Can you taste the sarcasm?
//just trying to fill the void

I hope that what you are saying is just sarcasm, cause I really don't think updating this ride would ruin it at all, look at IASW Updating the AA's and the sound system can only enhance the experience :)

one thing you can always count on on the wdwmagic forums, is people's inability to not get blatant sarcasm

(to tangent for a moment, if i may) When it comes to the subject of Disney, we're presented with something so genuine and UN-ironic that the normal sarcastic comments and jokes that are so regular in daily life, not to mention other message boards, are greeted here with blank stares and whispers of "wait, are you being serious or joking?"

Not to come down soley on you Darth Darrel, you've been here for a long time, and there's LOT of others here who make the same mistake, its just an interesting phenomenon that i've never seen anywhere else on the web.

I think we need a smiley holding up a sarcasm sign to avoid any further confusion.
