Haunted Mansion Refurbishment!

LOL! One time we were in the Haunted Mansion the ride stopped for 15 minutes and was totally annoying, now I don't know if it was to let a handicapped person on or not, but they could have atleast stopped the audio aswell, we were stuck in the chamber with the guy in the coffin that keeps saying "Let me outta here!" LOL! I got to the point where I wanted to get out of my doom buggy and take that lid off of the coffin and say now get the hell out of there!

I'm sure those people who are disabled and otherwise could not ride without a complete stop are very sorry for annoying you so much.

I have no problem with handicapped people, but the stops kind of disrupts the ride. Creep mode would minimize this. It would simply slow down and peopl would think it was part of the ride, and that would stop the dumb spiel.

(SSE) It stops, but it does have creep. Sometimes people with balance problems can't do the platform moving at all - or if a family member needs to assist in a direct transfer (meaning they literally pick the person up out of the wheelchair and put them into the seat).

I'm sure they are glad you have no problem with them.

Look, I'm not Mr. PC - but seriously, your original post was very offensive to me as I travel with a child who cannot transfer without those stops.

If it's annoying for you to be stopped momentarily, imagine how annoying it must be for her to have to be lifted out of a wheelchair by someone else and having to do this from ride, to ride, to ride, while you are skipping along not having to even contemplate such things, complaining about a slight pause in your experience?

Just think a bit more before you post something like that. You being forced to look at a scene in a dark ride for a few extra seconds (something many people actually find enjoyable) and being annoyed really pales in comparison to the reason those stops happen.

Again, I'm far from PC - but there is a difference between being PC and just not being selfish and rude. It's called tact - you may think "gee some wheelchair person, great, annoy me in my ride", but saying (or typing) so in public just makes you look very immature.

Not really a "plight" - it's just normal to us (and, of course, her). But when people complain about being "annoyed" that the ride stops for 30 seconds for us to load, it does hit a nerve.
