Haunted Mansion automatic doors?

Like I said, the ride has been there for how many years? And it needs the signs now?
An adult isn't likely to get hurt by the doors but a child might. You have been going there for years and you know they open that way, newcomers do not. It's far more important to make sure that parents know what might happen, then worry about some stupid theme (even though, based on the picture, it fits the theme very well). I wouldn't be surprised if Mr. Gracie himself had them there at one time. If anything the signs are late arriving, not out of place.

If Disney wants to take the door signs down why not just make so that the doors open from the other direction? or at least have sensors that activate a speech unit for the ghost host that says something like " hey you there quit blocking my door!" how hard is that? NOT HARD AT ALL!

Long story short here is, the signs aren't necessary. This country is too over sensitized to what "could" happen. Too many people are looking for too quick of a way to make a buck, rather than take it on the chin that they were stupid.

they'll be open with a CM escorting people inside. Again, much more to be concerned with....

So if I'm in line, if there's a wait, and I see that these doors open out, because the CM is taking people in, I see the doors close inward, but then still put myself in a position to get hit by the doors when they open again?

Come on...

Which is exactly why they are necessary. Change society and they can take them back down.

And when there's hordes of people piling up at the entrance other individuals may not be as observant. For the last time, safety is just as important as show for Disney. There's plenty of signage of a similar sort to be around the parks. Two signs that you may or may not see really won't ruin your day.

As you said, "Come on...."

Change society... as someone else said: There are much bigger problems.

They should change the text to read. Doors open in, doors open out. Which way? Do you feel lucky punk?

Maybe they should change it that you stand infront of the doors with the signs on it and the ground just sinks (they move the elevator to outside). That'd be kinda neat.

Jeez. Since 1971 they have opened out. No problems. Until recently they were opened by a CM slowly. Now they are automatic. Who cares? If people are stupid enough to get close to a door, then their dumb butt deserves a whack in the face or behind.

That is the problem in this country, a bunch of whiny, good for nothing leeches that are sue happy, cant speak english, have no manners, lack personal cleanliness, and leave their brains not in the hotel room but back at their homes.

To Hell with them!

Back where Disney first opened, they didn't need safety spiels. They had pirates chasing women on PotC becuase nobody cared about political correctness. They edited The Martin's and the 'Coys out of the Make Mine Music DVD because of Guns. The digitally edited out Pecos Bill's Cigarette on Melody Time. Song of the South was actually re-released into theaters in 1986. It seems like society is going backwards, not forwards. It really really does.

The rides represent a period in history. In today's world things are different. These rides are a representation of the time periods they portray (or their movies for that matter), and this includes how the world behaved at that time.
