Has an Adventureland height balloon test happened?

Was there an exclusivity to the new Pirates ride at Shanghai? A period of time they could not clone it?
And truthfully , the Magic Kingdom does really have the woprst iteration of the Pirates ride... It would be amazing if we could get ours rebuilt...and if not to the new Shanghai version, at least the Paris version, which is the best version of the original ride...Shanghai is so different it isn't really the same attraction... I would love to see a complete tear-down a rebuild into the Paris version complete with Blue Lagoon restaurant. The Parks are more crowded than ever, we need larger better class attractions.

I would love to see the new Pirates ride at Hollywood Studios --- i think it is a perfect fit!

I agree that it is a lot of different factors, including a lot more people being there. I guess people have to latch onto just one reason for it all, right or wrong, to make themselves feel better.

I usually agree with you, but not in this case. I personally do believe it has helped increase wait times. It's not the only factor but look at Toy Story Mania over at DCA. They added MaxPass and wait times jumped from 30-40 to 80 minutes. Fluke or no?

I can only go by what I see. When we were at WDW just a few weeks ago, we walked on to many of the FP+ rides that did not have FP before, such as HM. We never saw a wait that week above 20 minutes for those rides, and the parks were crowded. Guess we're just lucky.

Guess you are.

We tend to visit in the.... lower... season for want of a better word. I'd kill to walk onto the HM after 930am now.

No pun intended :D

That you were. These wait times were all day? I check the app pretty often ... just seems a bit hard to believe, no offense intended but wait times are indeed bad overall now.

Now if I use a FP, wait times are great. I don't wait very long at all.

Me too. I miss walking right on. I miss walking right onto a lot of attractions.

Spaceship Earth filling it's outdoor queue must have been a fluke too. It was awful to see. Tell me FP+ hasn't impacted that? Or Mansion. Or Pirates.

SSE frequently filled its exterior queue prior to FP+.

The thing is the queue also usually kept moving. No stop / start.

We usually tend to go to MK first thing in the morning, and then hop over to EPCOT after lunch. I don't track wait times via the app at all, just walk over to it. It is entirely possible that wait times in the afternoon were much worse, but we're never there that late. Just the way we tour the parks is different than most, since we are there so often.

Park opening is the way to go for sure. I usually do that as well but then by the afternoon, watch out, LOL. I do think overcrowding has helped increase the wait times as well, not just FP+ but I do think it's helped affect it. But there are a lot of factors that go into the wait time.

We were at MK twice during our trip, and never waited more than 15 minutes for anything. Yes, we did have our 3 FP+, and used them, but went on several other attractions each day. Again, we go early morning when there isn't EMH that day. That could be the difference between what we see, and what others see.

We are rarely in a park in the afternoon, unless it is to grab a pint at the Rose & Crown with Carl. ;)

On December 30th... get to MK around 5PM, see the packed, but not as bad as he next day, New Years fireworks, ride Splash a half dozen times never having to exit in 40 degree weather (yes it was 42 degrees last year), and stay until 3am for extra Magic hours and you can do everything walk on (or less than 15 mins) at the busiest time of the year.

My point I'm getting to is I'm never planning to go Christmas week again as holy crap it was unimaginable (Epcot had 55 minutes for Figment & Nemo while Mexico was at 30 with the queue using the overflow), but more importantly when ever you go -- go smart.

Don't just focus on the rides... enjoy the park. Look at the details on the signs between Fantasyland & Liberty Square. It's difficult to do that obviously for the busiest weeks, but if you can go anytime other than Christmas, Spring Break, July 4th, and Easter, it's far more satisfying to walk around obviously. But no matter when you go, if you use Fastpasses properly, are willing to get a little wet on Splash at night (as an example), and are willing to not do every single ride it's still a great experience and just enjoy time together, whether it being a teen group, family, or just a couple.
