Harry Potter ride good idea

And about the movie being based on a book that is not Disney, that can be said about most every attraction. Many of the princess stories are based on Grimm (sp?) fairytails.

I was telling somebody else that they were wrong because they were classifying splash with Potc, Jc, and Hm, saying that the idea for the story in the ride was "original". I was telling them that splash mountain was based on a movie so it wasn't (in their words) "original"

I say it'd rock if Disney could do it. Sadly. the only parks the least bit tied with Warner Bros. would proboly only make a Harry Potter ride if they could make it into a Roller Coaster. :brick:

And yeah, Disney DOES own the right to show the movies on their television channels.
and I don't think a roller coaster would be a good idea, but you know what would be great? A Sort of walk through attraction like they have with Van Helsing (which used to be The Mummy) at Universal Studios

No. No. No. NO! Listen, I love Harry Potter. When one of the new books come out, I lock myself in my room and read until I'm done. But no. Not in the Disney parks. I don't know why, but I don't think Harry fits with Disney. Besides there are so many DISNEY properties that should be represented in the parks before HP.

I mentioned this before in another post...but Warner Brothers Movie World in Austrailia did have a "walk through" for the First movie like the Narnia attraction at there park. Infact! Here is the link to it http://www.movieworld.com.au/rides_attractions/ride_harry_potter.cfm
If were to not get rights from Warner Brothers to use the characters etc. then the ride would not fit in MGM. I think it would be better in the Magic Kingdom in fantasyland anyway. I also think it would be a bad idea to take scenes from the book and put it into the ride. The ride should be something that takes you into the world of Harry Potter where you get your letter to attend hogwarts and you have to go get your wand and you get to go to hogwarts. Compete in a Quiditch match. Make it really interactive. That would be AMAZING!!!!!!! But no, you cant include scenes from the books. It just wouldnt be right.

Sorry. But for me, there's too much "dark" magic in HP for me to consider it appropriate for Disney. My opinion, of course.

oK look I'm not even gonna read the other posts all but the first for this one NO A HP RIDE IS NOT A GOOD IDEA OR IS IT EVEN POSSIBLE SO STOP WITH THESE DARN POST ALREADY

I will stop when you prove to me that Warner Bros. is in possession of the theme park rights, and when you stop shouting. Harry Potter has been, currently is, and will be (at least the near future) J.K. Rowling's. Warner Bros. has the rights to the movies and everything that goes along with them, but as far as I know, that is it.THECARISMINE said:

Since I worked at a Warner Brothers Studio Store. I do know for a fact that any product with HP had a WB Shield with the coprights on it. Simply go find a Bertie Bots Flavor bean Box and Look at the bottom. It say "Harry Potter Chararcters and licences copyrights of Warner Brothers/J.K.Rowling." I might be a tad off but just look at anything that they sell with Harry and you'll surely see the WB Shield.
