So what. The implication was that Six Flags is unsafe. Which is absolutely not true. You're no more likely to get injured at a Six Flags park than at Disney...and in point you are more likely to get injured at Diseny than Six Flags.

The vast amount of death at disney parks is caused by those having health conditions, either known or unknown. Then there are the deaths by those that either trespassed and or did not follow the safety guidelines.

As for 6 flags, I count atleast 19 guests that have been killed at one of their parks due to 6 flags' neglect. As for non-fatal injuries, not every thing is reported but 6 flags still has a large amount of injuries caused by their neglect.

That is incredibly sad. People's lives at the expense of an executive's pay raise. :(

Well, to be fair to Disney to some degree, most of the Six Flags parks, if not all of them, are open only seasonally, giving Disney more than twice as many days for people to get injured or killed.

you can see this everyday that you are in anyone of their parks. last time I was at great adventure, it was a joke. they sold us undercooked chicken nuggets, with fries covering them; also their nacho machine had leaked atleast a quart of cheese. I went on el toro and tried to get a picture, but their knock-off kodak picture machines were cropping pictures wrong and they would not reprint my picture, so they fully refunded me instead.

along with the parks being more crowded and a language barrier between guests and staff.

But that's not necessarily germane to the discussion, unless you're saying the crowds (and I don't know for sure Six Flags is more crowded than the most popular vacation destination in the world) or the supposed language barrier is the reason Six Flags is supposedly less safe than Disney. Supposedly.

Attractions burning to the ground, guests burning to death because there weren't proper exits installed, people falling from roller coasters...yeah Six Flags being unsafe is totally false.

Yes, god forbid we think the company could have changed in the last 2-3 decades since the vast majority of the neglectful things like that occurred.

I meant this for disney. Large crowds in a small space can create a hazard, think of black friday. Park guests not understanding the language of the cast members can create safety concerns. Disney deals with this day in and day out with little if any problems.

well it wasn't that long ago that a six flag ride cut both legs of a guest.

I can proudly say I've ridden that ride and survived. :) Six Flags also has the only coaster I've ever blacked out on. Darn that one corkscrew turn on the Titan. I also thought I lost my glasses lens on the same ride.

Both legs are still with you? Good to hear.

Never blacked out at GA or lost personal belongings, hate to experience that on a Saturday in July.

Was that Six Flags' fault or did someone go where they shouldn't?

I thought I was gonna black out on Goliath, still a great ride.

Some of the rides at Six Flags are truly amazing thrill rides, but they have a huge problem with Park ops and as such guest satisfaction suffers.

You're a moron. I can make the same argument about any accidents at Disney. The cleat at Disneyland. The Big Thunder Mountain accident. Yeah, Disney is totally safe!

So what? Not that long ago a train derailed on Big Thunder Mountain killing one and injuring 11.

I'm not saying that these things don't happen, but it was your gross portrayal of Six Flags as some sort of deathtrap, which it isn't. We can go back and forth all you want on theme park accidents. But the truth is you are no safer at Disney than you are at Six Flags...regardless of whether or not the park is open daily year round.

I agree with this...Any theme park you go too you can always be putting your life on the line. Even if the Park has highest safety standards a freak accident can happen...It has happened at Disney before and other parks before!

Statistically speaking, I bet you're twice as likely to get injured driving to a theme park (Disney or Six Flags or Universal) than you to be injured while inside the park.

Disney does "fads" as well. Or at least strays from the idea of "timeless". See Tiki Room UNM (90's songs that are past their due date),QUOTE]

Yeah. the Disneyland version is Timeless and popular out there... we need that here at WDW for sure!!!!

As for the safety discussion: can a moderator please peel that off of this thread as it has nothing to do with the general theme of this thread IMHO.
