It's hard to be patriotic when the 4th falls in the middle of the week. And, of course, by "patriotic" I mean "drunk."

I don't think the Founding Fathers intended the people of this great nation to celebrate anything on Wednesdays. If they did, they would've put it in the freakin' Constitution.

I don't believe the word "Wednesday" is even in the Constitution. Or the Federalist papers. Or even sewn on Betsy Ross' underwear. I could be wrong about that, but everything I know about American history tells me that I'm right.

Clearly you're not making your best effort to be patriotic. And by that I mean "drunk in the middle of the week". I'm willing to do it...what is wrong with you?

All that aside...

Yay America! Happy Birthday Baby! I am so proud and above all THANKFUL to be a citizen of this country.

"I pledge allegiance, to the Flag. Of the United States of America. And to the Republic, for which it stands, One Nation, under God, indivisible, with Liberty, and Justice for all"

Amen.

Feel free to correct me if I got the Pledge wrong...been a while since I've said it in public.

I hate feeling compelled to be drunk. Like on St. Patrick's Day or New Year's or my birthday or, hell, Hot Dog Day at the kids' school. A drunk should come in the course of daily events, naturally, and not because of some man-made celebration.

BTW, you got the words right, but your punctuation is atrocious! (Now there's a good excuse to (continue to) drink: paying attention to somebody's punctuation on an Internet -- what is this? -- discussion board or something. Where the heck are we, anyway, and how did I get here?) BRB, with a cocktail. If you want something, help yourself.

Pretty close. I've corrected it above to how it originally was and should be now, as well as removing the extraneous "Amen."

Happy 4th of July everyone!
