Happy Birthday Tower of Terror

I was there for the official opening, Tony Baxter was on stage telling the story of the ride, he pulled a lever and sparks flew down the trolley car cables to the TOT then fireworks went off from the top of TOT. The line was the entire width and length of the street. They even gave out free lemonade since it was so hot that day, I waited 4 hours to get a ride...single drop.

Well, for starters, this is officially "Tower 4", but its actually the 5th version of the ride. There was an unnoficial revision not too long after opening.

Version 1 - opening version - one single drop.

Version 2 - smaller drop upon entering the drop shaft, followed by the original drop. (This was never marketed and was put in place about a year after opening)

Version 3 - version 2, with an additional rise and drop added on. Marketed as "Twice the Fright!"

Version 4 - multiple drops - the sequence was one of the four sequences used today. Marketed as "Fear Every Drop!"

Version 5 - current version - four different drop sequences, chosen randomly. Marketed as "Tower of Terror 4 - Never the Same Fear Twice!"
