I just got my first birthday card this year...

a month and a half early. lol.

Today is October 29, my birthday is December 15.

So I get a birthday card...

"WISHING YOU A HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

EARL K. WOOD, Orange County Tax Collector"

????!?!?!

then I turn it to the other side

"REGISTRATION RENEWAL NOTICE"

this is how the Orange County Tax Collector sends out its vehicle registration notices.. lol.

Yup.. so Happy Birthday Rob, you owe $46.10 (or 46.70 via the phone or web).

What a weird state I live in

at least they're cordial

(but why didn't they wait til your actual birthday...so you'd at least have birthday money to pay them off???)

If it came actually on my birthday I'd sue them for mental distress - ruining my birthday

NY does this for their driver's license...and if they wait for your birthday it will be expired. :p

Alabama doesn't send out anything when your license expires. You just have to wait for the time when you write a check and the person checking your ID tells you that you have an expired license. I mean, who keeps up with that? lol

Wow... that pretty cheap.... Here in IL its like $75-80 now... plus, ad another $50-70 for your Chicago Vehicle Sticker.

But... I register my cars in WI... and I just paid $55 online. :)

I'm impressed. It's not everyone who can wish themselves a happy birthday.:)

But solicited or not, I do wish you a very happy unbirthday indeed!:animwink:

And yours truly had an expired license one time for over a month. At least I didn't have to pay a fine for it.

Imagine if you owned a car rental company - every day would be your birthday  :hammer:

Out of interest I looked online and found out that mine expires every 10 years cos it's a photo license (like all new ones in the UK) until age 70, then it's every 3 years. You need a new photo only at age 70 as well.
