The Super Bowl Halftime show wasn't as good as years past but Shania was good. :sohappy: Sting and No Doubt sucked.

Really, I thought Shania and Sting sucked. I thought No Doubt was good when they sang without Sting.

Don't get me wrong I liked Shania's first song but the second song :hurl: !

Just my opinion.

Shania sucked. Hands down one of the worst superbowl halftimes I've ever seen (in fact, I couldn't even watch the whole think...thank god for SNL on NBC).

I forgot about that! I was in a bar anyway, so I wasn't able to see it. Was it good?

Yeah, there were some funny parts...they did some typical news updates, then they were making fun of the superbowl ads, then they had the "Weekend Update Halftime Show Halftime Show" which totally made fun of the halftime show....all in all, pretty good and much better than the superbowl halftime show.

Of course, the ending of it was just plain bizarre.

The Dixie Chicks would have been a better choice for a half time show. Shania didn't look like she was into it. Gwen was off key when she did the 'duet' with Sting and I am a fan of No Doubt. Sting would have been better off solo. It didn't seem like such a big deal as in years past. It was more exciting waiting for the commercials.

I agree! That was one of the best half-time shows I've ever seen. They even had the hype building it up. Remember the commercials with Ben Stiller promoting that show. It was great.

Yeah...Shania was so off on her lip-sync...it was funny.. And the Mic levels were so low on Gwen (and so high on the guitars) from no Doubt... you could barely hear her singing :(

I thought the only good thing about all of the music was seeing how bad Shinia was lip syncing. It was about 5 sec. of her mouth not moving while she was supposed to be singing.

I can't stand how they chose a Canadian to sing God Bless America.

I can't stand hearing Bon Jovi. As soon as the game is over from now on, I'm turning the tv off. I don't care to see presentations of MVP or trophy because I don't want to risk watching and hear It's My Life, which is supposed to be the new champion song instead of We Are the Champions.

I respect anybody that gets up there and sings "for REAL". That means you are going to hear breathing, panting and occasional off key parts.

It takes GUTS to do that under really bad stage conditions.

So given the circumstances, Sting and the "No doubt" girl did pretty well.

As for Shania, ...the only exibition of her talent was her amazing abilty to show off that stupid "vampire" outfit she had on. That was her only concern for the night.

Phill Collins had the best half time show back in 2000 for the millennium celebration.

CT : - )

BTW- I'm going to start a thread on the Millinnium Celebration music and Gavin Greenaway, John Debny and Hanz Zimmer. It seems these composers are in quite a clique together.

I definitely agree! This year's half time sort of sucked. Did we all forget about 2000's, though?!! The one with Christina Aguilera and Enrique Iglesias singing "Celebrate the Future Hand in Hand" and the Tapestry of Nations puppets!! That was my fav! I thought the stage of this year's ht was great, though (with the screen on "B" stage!)!

LAST YEAR WAS U2!!!!!!!

that was a good show.

I can live without rap, hip-hop, and r+b
Aerosmith was good but the rest...:hammer:

the reason why they had Celine Dion do God Bless America is that is the only one who can sing it halfway decent.

U2 was the only one who ever did it live in a past few year and was good.

You are CORRECT sir! However, U2 has been on so many shows in the last year and a half, it's hard to remember which ones they were.

That being said... U2 ROCKS!

BTW - If you've never seen Sting live, go see him the next time he's in your town. I've seen him four times, and he's put on an amazing show every time.
